Disney Archive Exhibit at Reagan Library in Simi Valley

BTW, the Reagan museum is incredible even without the Disney tie-in. I highly recommend the trip up to Simi Valley! :thumbsup2

Since we are driving down, we added this to our trip and we are leaving a day early. We are staying in Simi Valley over night and got a hotel/breakfast/library pass deal. We go on to DLR the next day.

What hotel did you book? I'm interested with the deal. Thanks.

It was Courtyard by Marriott. For $139 for one night we are getting the Presidential Library Package- breakfast and tickets for 2. We are staying on a Saturday night. Hopefully we can get there around 1 and get our tickets and head over to the library right away even if our room isn't ready.

totally off topic, but when my DH and I first got married we lived in a condo literally across the street from the library site, and watched it being built !

The exhibit is amazing. I was able to get to the opening last Saturday night. You won't be disappointed! I'm even thinking about going back a second time.

If you are planning on seeing the exhibit, remember that the tickets are timed-entry. You can purchase them online beforehand if you want.

Hmm... I wonder that means for the tickets that come with our room. :confused3 I didn't see anything about what time we could use them.

I would LOVE to do that - but it would cost me a fortune in shuttle fees - there's no WAY i'm going to drive in LA!

Clearly a personal choice, but if you want to see the exhibit, I would not let driving in LA stop you. Yes, it's a busy city, but it's not that bad. I notice you are from NY. I would not let LA driving keep you away if it's something you're interested in.

It is funny, I always get a car when I go to DL, and I always drive thru LA to visit the Burbank area. I find the driving in LA to be no big deal at all. :confused3

Then again, I am from NJ, and drive into Philadelphia and NYC each month..... and we are really good drivers here in NJ! :rotfl::thumbsup2

Did you call them for this rate? Because I am not seeing it online. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure that the hotel and the museum have some sort of arrangement for the guests.

I went to the hotel's website and found it there. But now when I went to look, I couldn't find that deal offered. Maybe it isn't offered anymore. I'm not sure. It wouldn't hurt to call and find out if they still offer it. Also, I believe weekend rates are cheaper than weekday rates. We reserved it back in May, I think.

We are going down in December and really want to do this. Somehow I doubt that deal will be offered over the holidays but it would be nice! The pics from D23 look amazing. I am anxious to see it!!

If anyone is looking for a hotel not too far from the Reagan Library, I highly recommend the Westlake Village Inn. That place is gorgeous and the hotel rooms are amazing!

fyi - they sometimes have Reagan Library tickets on groupon/livingsocial, etc. I wouldn't worry too much about package deals with a hotel as tickets aren't terribly expensive - unless of course the room is a great deal and includes tickets!
