Disney Announces New Star Wars Lands for DL and DHS

And now we have once again the issue of closing Star Wars land during fireworks. Remember that a few days ago it was rumored that SWL would be mostly indoors? By the looks of the artwork, we can safely say that that isn't the case. I'm sure they'll make sure the configuration of the land will be as convenient as possible, but it's still an important problem to consider. The other thing is, we have Innoventions and Star Tours on one side of the park, and a whole land in the other.

There are quite a few issues that will have to be addressed.
It was said that because of how they are going to build Star Wars at DL they will still be able to keep the land open during fireworks.

Fourteen acres!!! And at BOTH DL and WDW!!! More then I dreamed! I don't care how long it takes. And the accurate model of Pandora looks amazing! AND an 11 acre Toy Story land! AWESOME! I'll just send in all my savings now!

I read that any expansion at DL will be within the footprint of the park and the support facilities will move across the street.

Tron in Shanghi looks amazing. Hope they use that for a speeder bike!

Weep, Universal, share thy lamentations with Shamu. The end is near. :p Just kidding.
I know what you mean! I just had a steak for dinner and read these reports after. I was immediately mad I didn't have a hotdog instead and put every cent I can save toward future trips to Star Wars, pandora and toy story updated Disney!

What's the difference between a Star Wars party at a park and Star Wars weekends?

I'm guessing Disney could charge more of the party as a hard ticket event on top of park entry? They do like to do that.

Obviously but I don't feel like the events would be much different. It will be interesting to see. I think we will still have SWW for next year because there won't be much change by then other than more construction walls.

They're certainly still talking about Star Wars Weekends 2016 on the website so I think it's safe for a year or two anyway. But given how Disney likes to soak up any spare cash they can I can see it moving to a hard ticket event once there's a Star Wars Land to hold it in.

Are you finished yet? Was it good for you?

There is no longer a need for a Star Wars weekend when there will be a permanent Star Wars Land. AND a night time party can have the special features and characters for a price. Makes sense... and dollars.

14 acres Lockedout, FOURTEEN. Biggest expansion EVER. I'm JUST. GETTING. STARRRRRRRRRTED! :) Room for 3 different Pod Race rebranded Teacups A ticket rides AND an Uncle Owen Barbeque!

Anyone feel like any Avatar news doesn't really even matter compared to SW? I went from caring yesterday, to not really even remembering it. I feel bad for Rohde, he's in the Shadow.
only the nerdy star wars fans that can only appreciate their brand feel that way.. most logical people can and will have fun at both

Still clinging to the Facebook likes, huh?

Only Star Wars geeks like that Star Wars stuff...the problem is there's like a billion on the planet.

Neither of them are the "cultural phenomenon" like that movie about the snowman and the ice queen... What was it called again?
;)

Whoa, I don't think that's quite fair. I've really really really wanted to like Avatar. I've wanted to love Avatar. For 4 years...

It's probably because that was the only thing I could look forward to, but now there's finally something that looks amazing! With, yes, a brand I like, but also a land in Park where it fits in.

I'm going to have fun at Avatarland or Pandora, The World of Avatar, but I'm finished trying to make myself like it. SW is what I like. I'm not a nerd (okay, maybe a little :) ) but I do like SW in DHS.

I'm still looking forward to 2017, but I'm looking forward to 2020 much more.

Five years?

Really? Did we get that today?

After 3 years of ownership and 40 years of IP?

Say it ain't so...

That's my guess... And that's an optimistic guess.

I guess we should take what we can get. I can only imagine Bob Iger in the quarterly calls...

This next one he'll say... Wait for it, it's coming!

In 20 quarterly earnings calls Staggs will be saying... Wait for it, it's coming!

I just have a long memory...nothing personal...

I remember statements like "avatar has a billion likes on Facebook" and "oh no...frozen is different...it won't die down"

Or something...

Don't think it was you that said them...but whoever did...fell below the bell curve.

Just is what it is.
