Disney Animated Film Sequels

Why oh why do they keep doing animated sequels, the only one better than the original is the rescuers down under. They are now doing Brother Bear 2, The Little Mermaid 3, Cinderella 3.

It will only be a matter of time before theres a snow white and the 7 dwarfs 2. Walt will be turning in his grave. he never wanted to do sequels. Also did you know that Walt wanted to build a disney park at blackpool but local business men didnt want to know, I bet they are kicking themselves now. Although the weathers crap at blackpool, lol

I agree with the sentiment with regard to Cinderella 2 , I found it a bit naff but My DD (3) seems enchanted enough with it and I suppose she is the primary market.

I actually like most of the other sequels though particularly Lilo and Stitch and Lion King 2 (although not 1.5/3) and I thoght Toy Story 2 was much better than the original.

I've never found a Disney sequel that I enjoyed as much as the original.

Seems like just a way of makig more money

children love them so I don't mind, though I have only bought Mulan 2 and that was because it came with the original in a box set.

I have to say that I am glad that a disney park did not get built in blackpool.

I'll agree that the resuers and tot story were the best sequels although my son loves the aladdin sequels, yes, its just a way of making more money but then what good business doesn't expand on the back of an already popular product?

I've watched a few of them on Cinemagic since it launched and I have to say with most I'm glad I didn't spend any money to see them. Toy Story 2 is fantastic and I thought Lion King 3 was brilliant (I wasn't impressed with 2.)

i thought lilo and stich 2 was alright but the 1st one was alot better tho

i do agree with you why do they do it, but kids love cartoons and thats where they get the money from .

Apparantly, it's in the planning stages. To bring it up to date and give it more street cred with the kids they've had to rename the dwarfs:

Happy will be Slappy
Grumpy will be Angry
Sneezy will be Hoody
Sleepy will be Dozy
Doc will be Junky
Bashful will be Mugger
Dopey will be Gormless

true however they need money to make new films.
when was the last time that Disney had a big hit with out pixar, probably over 10 years ago. They need to get money from some where. another reason why they rerelease films every 7 years.

without pixar disney wouldnt have had the hits they did, thats why they didnt let them go, they just bought pixar themselves
