Morning all, and Steph, if you are checking in...
:earsboy: :earsgirl: Have a GREAT TRIP!:earsgirl: :earsboy: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Yay, I finally feel a little better! Still sneezing and my ears itch, but not nearly as bad. And I slept last night.

I'm driving David's car today. He's thrilled about that. Allen's car is still in the shop getting the hail damage repaired. Hopefully we'll have it back before next week. Anyway, I'm driving around in a little red sporty car. :smooth:

Guess by now Steph is on her way. Hope she has a great trip.

Off to find the riddle and take Amy to school.

Good Morning Angels!

I just took Mrs. AlabamaAlan, her guide dog, and my youngest DD back home. They came to work with me this morning so that Mrs. AA and I could get our flu shots.

The tech/nurse was great; I didn't even feel it!

Alan - they have been giving flu shots here for a couple of years now, but this year they are charging $15. I don't think I'm going to do it because of that. I agree though that you can't really feel anything.

I'm a big believer in flu shots. Now they've come out with the inhaled version, but the cost is high this year. Hopefully in a year or so that method will drop in price. I know my kids would balk less at sniffing something than a needle.

My health insurance through my workplace pays for annual flu shots for me and any dependants over 18. That's why Mrs. AA came in to work this morning.

They are first come - first served on the one day they do it.

I'm debating the shots this year,I know I should get one with being on campus for classes and all

We all have problems with seasonal asthma, so I like to get the shots for everyone. Seems like whenever the kids get the flu they go into an asthma episode before it's over.

Allen can usually get his at work, but I take the kids to a clinic that pediatricians run on a Saturday just for flu shots. They are usually willing to give me one, too. I'm hoping that we didn't already miss it this year. Being sick threw my schedule off. ;)

CS, I would. Doctors say (after listing many catagories of people who need to get flu shots)

"Anyone who wants to lower their chances of getting the flu (the shot can be administered to children as young as 6 months) can get a flu shot. Persons who provide essential community services (such as police, firemen, etc.) should consider getting a flu shot to minimize disruption of essential activities during flu outbreaks. Students or others in institutional settings (those who reside in dormitories) should be encouraged to get a flu shot."

That's funny but the same thing happened at my job this year too. I think I'm still going to go for it...and I was told we can submit the charge to our insurance carriers.

Just a quick HI
Heading off to soccer practice...probably the last of the season sincw we turn back the clocks on Saturday.:(

Hi All!

I always get a flu shot too....I'm an asthmatic & my doctor says I should get it.

Steph & family should be in Florida by now!:sunny: I told her to send me a pic from Epcot & that I would post it here for everyone.

I can, and usually do, get the flu shot at the County Health Department for $7. It is advised because I am a health care worker.

I started my exchange shopping today. At least I have some ideas now.

OMG! I am :rotfl: I thought my exchangee might enjoy some chocolate so I bought some yummy Lindor truffles...the dark chocolate mint kind....mmmmm....sounds good so far right??.....well, I just found Dylan eating them! :p LOL! He offered to rewrap the one in his hand for me to send:eek: bwahahahahahaha

OMG - that is so funny about Dylan! I hope he enjoyed those chocolates!!!

I was talking with a former co-worker last night. She and her husband were on vacation in California a few weeks ago when there was the extreme heatwave across the west. She bought $80 of Ghiardelli chocolates in SF and threw them in the trunk while they drove south to their next destination. She was so P.O.'d when they opened the trunk to find everything all melted! She can't believe she did something that stupid to such good chocolate.:faint:

Hi everyone:wave:

LK, I've had a similar chocolate experience ... it wasn't Ghiradelli's, but I went to Hershey park once and a guy I worked with wanted me to bring him back a box of Hershey's soliataires....so I bought them and when we got home I heard no noise when I took them out of the car (all those little pieces are supposed to shake :D ) Well after putting the box in the fridge, he had a soliataire alright !! No shaking pieces, just thunk thunk against the side of the box ! I just told him I forgot to buy them in all the excitement of the trip ;)

Lars - I guess next time you should put out your Halloween candy, then Dylan won't be tempted by the good stuff!:)

Spb - did you end up eating the chocolate anyway? makes no difference to me if it is in little pieces or one big chunk!

Gail - I'll have to check that out about sending it to the insurance carrier.
