I know it's odd to link the two, but to some extent, I do. On VE Day, Europe was liberated and spared from the shadow of Nazism. And Disney is all about, when you think about it, the ability of people the world over to come together and wish each other freedom, joyousness and the ability to live life as they see fit.

I dunno. I'm just rambling.

I was listening to NPR news and they had a very interesting presentation to listen to about Victory in Europe VE Day
I also celebrate Red Poppy Day . Growing up we always had a paper red poppy to wear because my mother was born in County Durham and served in the Women’s Air Corp. Her nickname was Sammy and she learned Morse Code and safely aided planes to land The pilots nicknamed her .
I just ordered some for my family to wear the Friday before Memorial Day .

I agree with you about learning to appreciate and understand nationalities and
Believing it is possible to peacefully get along whenever I am at Disney .

It would be cool if the England and France pavilions did a celebration.

My Dad was a soldier on D Day, and in 2019, DH and I visited Normandy France and saw the historic sites. Afterwards, DH and I took the DCL transatlantic, back to NYC. So, for us, VE Day and DCL are connected, too!
