Disney and Tattoos

It may be changing but we saw multiple people denied use of the public facilities in Tokyo this summer and at Tokyo Disney Sea a female with a tattoo was told she would have to cover it to gain entry to the park.
After I posted earlier, I decided to look into the tattoo parlor that occupies my old house. They apparently mostly serve gaijin. They are very close to a US air base, which is why I lived there.

As others have said, they are not banning tattoos; however, I did see them make a person cover up their tattoo on his arm. Since he did not have a jacket (it was June afterall) they brought over some medical gauze and covered a tattoo of a nude woman lying in a position on... Never mind, you get the idea and can understand why they made him cover it up.

I don't know about Disney - but it's true for the Canadian Armed Forces.... LOL

And this is why I can't stand April Fool's jokes on the internet anymore. Even up to a few years ago it wasn't bad but now it seems like every year they keep popping up months and months later and get people concerned for legit reasons. Thanks Obama. /rant.

There are things to consider if you have or are thinking of getting a tattoo like if it's visible to other people is there a possibility it could offend them? Is the tatto in a place you could cover it up to reduce that risk.
We both have a tattoo and we deliberately chose to have it on the back of our left shoulders where we know it can't be seen most of the time. It's never caused any issues for us, although one CM asked us why we had it and what it signifies. It's one we chose after the passing of a much loved family matriarch gone before her time to keep her in our memory and with us all as we go on without her, a trinity knot Celtic style and it's a fair size but not one that would cause offence. I can understand them having a dress code to cover such things.

In Japan, tattoos have been traditionally associated with the Yakuza, and they have been frowned upon in regular society.
But, oddly enough, it turns out that the house that I used to live in Japan, over 20 years ago, is now a tattoo parlor

Yep, we'll see how much that changes by 2020 and the Tokyo Olympics. I personally don't have/like tattoos but they probably will make more accommodations for gaijin

The other part of this rumor in the U.S. parks may be about CM's that Disney hires....they can't have tattoos that will be exposed depending on the costume they're wearing....but I have seen CM's with long sleeves but tattoos extending to their wrist that you could barely see.

I also agree about the April Fool's jokes, the large companies participating in them can cause some issues if the jokes are a bit TOO close to being real (assuming this was Disney's joke and not a fan site/other)

[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]seeing how Disney did this to my husband... (His choice painted on at HS) and EVERYONE thought it was a real tattoo and no one that worked in the park said a word to us id say you're good...
Beautiful family! Your husband seems like a good sport to go along with the family face painting at HS.

If this were true, the California parks would be quite empty! I have a Cheshire Cat on my back (easily covered) and a few more (all in areas easily covered) and a DMB symbol on my ankle (covered with long pants). However, my husband has 2 full sleeves and a dolphin on his ankle, I guess we would only be able to visit during the Winter. We have no plans of visiting Japan, so we're good.
