Well, we are back from our great adventure. If you read the thread entitled "9/25 cruisers odd but urgent request" by "Allears" we are the family that post was about.

After a crazy amount of arranging and rearranging - including getting up at 3:00 AM to catch a flight which we then found out had been cancelled!! We actually made it!

I can't thank Sgardea enough. If not for you this may not have happened because the ship ended up being full capacity. If the Disney people hadn't read that thread and saw that you had given up your rooms, we would probably be re-scheduling a 4 day cruise on the Wonder right now and it wouldn't be with our good friends. Without whom, I might add, we would have been completely lost.

What an amazing thing that it all worked out and we ended up on the same ship with our very special friends! Gayle and I just kept looking at eachother and trying to take in the fact that it really was true. We really were sitting on the Disney Magic together!!!

There wasn't a moment that Annie wasn't completely lit up. She was such a blessing to watch. She took it ALL in and made the most of every moment. If a kid can be three places at once, I think she accomplished it. We are getting the photos I took put onto disc as well, so hopefully I can put a picture of her on here too. Laura and Caroline - our other two daughters were equally thrilled.

We had an absolute blast on our excursions. The girls got quite good at "dickering" with the locals at Costa Maya. It was very funny to watch Annie in action refusing to pay their first price. They ended up getting their hair braided for $10.00 per head!! Pretty good considering that Caroline paid $40.00 on board! At one point, Annie fell in love with a wrap around skirt one of the shop owners was wearing. She asked how much and the lady proceeded to show her a whole assortment of other skirts. Annie kept saying "But I like THAT one" (the one she was wearing) Finally the lady held up one finger and said through a total of about three teeth "One meenut" she scurried away and came back wearing a different skirt and carrying the skirt Annie had admired in her arms. Annie paid for it and off she went. Haha!

Disney went way above and beyond on this one. Thelma with guest services is apparently appointed to any "wish" families. She did so much for us. Annie had mail every day from her with special little perks like arcade cards, a cute little Tiger doll and even a very special, exclusive invitation to go ON the bridge with Captain Tom and of course the REAL captain - Mickey himself!

Even though this cruise was a complete exception and Disney had already gone beyond the call of duty moving us from a 4 day to a 7 day at no extra charge. They STILL honored their ship board credits that they offered to the guests and extended them to us.

Even the staterooms worked out for the best. Had we gone on the Wonder as planned, we had a category 4 family stateroom. Sgardea gave us 2 connecting rooms so the girls stayed in one and my husband and I in the other with the doors open the whole time. That afforded a LOT more room for three growing princess: princess: princess: es who have a crazy amount of clothes!

We have set our sights on Feb 2006. Sure hope we can pull it off! We have been ruined for life and will probably never be satisfied with another vacation until we can take another Disney Cruise!!::MinnieMo

I'm so glad it worked out for you. I think Thelma at guest services is a sweetheart.

Please do post your pictures when you get them

As the original posters of that thread and very happy God-parents we can only say ditto to Whitney. This was a wild adventure for sure, and we happily gave up a couple of the days on the ship to be able to share this experience with them. I still get misty eyed thinking back on how awesome it was to sit next to Annie during Disney Dreams and see all three girls light up when the ship lights up with pixie dust.

This was a dream come true for all of us in very many ways. So our thanks to all of you too, because you helped make the magic for us as well!

Whit, 2006, we're there too!!! There will be some real lobby time then!

I'm glad you all had such a wonderful time. As I admitted in my stalker posts, we kept running into Annie everywhere, and she was ALWAYS beaming when we saw her.

(On a creepy stalker note, we're also looking at a Feb. 2006 sailing because my youngest will turn 3 that month . . . Oceaneer's Club, here we come!)

I am SO very happy for all of you. I was hoping & praying that Annie would feel well the entire trip & be able to enjoy all of it. I am thrilled that you both & the three girls had such a MAGICal time. That's terrific that you're planning another. God Bless you all. :cloud9:
