I am thinking of going to Orlando on 26th December, is this a wise move ?

On one hand, I know it will be very busy, on the other hand I think the Xmas and New year displays would be something very special to see. Also I've always been in summer so it would be different as well.

What do you all think?

The added bonus is I could avoid all my family and in-laws !!!

Hello Kevin,

All I can say is it is a fantastic time to go. Just beware it will be cooler than you have experienced in the summer. daytimes are nice but evenings are cold.If you are in a villa make sure you have pool heating. Mickeys very merry xmas party is the best I have seen.!!!!!!

Go for it

Hi Kevin
We went Dec 26th 2000. Yes you are right, v busy, when we arrived Alamo had no cars available of any description so they paid for us a taxi to Disney resort and back the following day. I decided to ring round other hire companies, not one car available anywhere so you can imagine how many are on the roads. A normal 15 min journey took us 30-45 mins. Queues everywhere for food, rides etc.
Went into Epcot for New Years eve. Luckily we were staying in Disney resort so guaranteed admission but they were turning everyone else away just after opening time.
It was colder then we had expected with frost on the car most nights. Not sunbathing weather at all.
Reading this you probably think disaster, Wrong, it is worth every minute of queing and waiting. We are returning this Xmas with flights booked on 25th Dec also paying for 2 Mums to go with us for their Xmas Present, you could borrow them if you miss your in laws.
:p :teeth:

Yes, it will be very busy.
Yes, it can be very chilly.
Yes, it's still a completely magical time to visit! :bounce:

Our family probably wouldn't choose to go again at that time of year, but it's definitely worth doing once to experience all the seasonal extras.

(I think you've just inspired me to go and have a look at our WDW Christmas / New Year photos again ;) )
