We leave in a few days for Disney:banana: and our youngest is 2mos old and has colic..she also seems sensitive to her environment...like if we're running errands she cries alot and won't eat. Anyone go to Disney with a colicky baby? I am also worried about the plane ride!! Any suggestions or encouraging stories about trips with a colicky baby???

Noises calmed my daughter when she had colic. Vacumn cleaners, dryers, bathroom fans. Also car rides put her to sleep. Our DD slept though a 3 hour flight, a lot of people said they didn't even know a baby was on the flight. I wouldn't worry too much about the flight, but I really wouldn't have wanted to take DD on vacation when she had colic.

Just prayers Our Ds was premature and had horrible colic. Nothing did a lot of good though car rides were somewhat helpful. Two months (for full term babies) is often when it starts and often peaks around 3mo so be prepared for it to get worse. Sorry, not what you wanted to hear. There are lots of things we did try that might work on your litttle one.

White noise machine
warm compresses and rubbing his tummy
Carrry him facing outwards while slightly bouncing him (this did help a little)
Warm bath with mom and/or dad in the tub

If you bottle feed..try changing the temp of the formular or the type of the bottle.

good luck

Bring a (I can't, for the life of me, think of what it is called... need coffee) (?) baby carrier (?). The thing you strap onto your body, to carry an infant. (One brand is Baby Bjorn.) The warmth of your body may comfort and the feeling of being close may give added security.

Also, have a stroller at the resort, to wheel the baby around if she's crying when others are trying to sleep.

Try leaving the bathroom fan on and placing the crib closer to the bathroom.

The environment at the parks could go either way. None of my children had colic, but I had one who, at a very young age, was fearful in crowds, but another that slept better than ever when we were at large, noisy events.

I would get a sling..Hotslings and Peanut shells are being sold at some stores now..(Hotslings are being sold at select Target stores and Peanut Shells are being sold in NOrdstrom..dont know if you have one). Being close to you in a a cradle or tummy to tummy position may help and if it is a gas problem being more upright AND against you may make a world of difference.
IS she formula fed or do you nurse??? Could it be gas or a problem with formula ( if in fact you bottle feed???)
