Okay technically we don't leave till the 14th, but I have been debating starting a trip report for awhile. I doubt many will read it, I'm just not that amusing, but anyways onto the cast:

Me (28): Call me Tabrizia, okay it isn't my real name, but I will answer to it in real life since I have used it as a nickname online for over 14 years. I'm a married (ie the aniversery part), non-working (okay I work part time, but I telecomute so I work from home so it doesn't feel like it), not going to school at the moment (I was, but I stopped, I will get my Bachlor's eventually I swear!), homebody (I'm an introvert, hense the trip report right?).

DH (29): Call him attriel (or atty and yes it is lowercase he prefers it that way), his online nickname for as long as I've known him and that is almost 10 years now. He's smart (3 degrees 2 Bachlors, 1 Masters, probably getting a second one and eventually getting his PHD), cute (or at least I think so), a hard worker (he does the cooking and most of the laundry, I can't complain), the money earner, and a sweetheart, relaxed and easy going and an introvert, my mom sometime calls him sucker for getting stuck with me.

The dog (4): Call him K-line (since that's his name). He's a PRT (Parson Russell Terrier, aka a Jack Russell Terrier). He's small, hyper, extremely good natured, and has a fan club at the local PetSmart.

Background: Hubby and I met my first year at Georgia Tech (Georgia Institute of Technology for those who don't know the name most people call it) back in October 1996. School had just started (the Olympics pushed back the start date of fall semester to October). And we've been together since. Hubby got his Bachlors in 1999, I didn't even come close, I think I was on my third college by then. He got his masters in Winter 2000 (sounds right anyways). We got engaged January 5th 2000 (I remember the date because it is my parents aniversery). We got married August 3rd and 5th 2001 (yes two weddings, 3 receptions, Hindu and Jewish Weddings and receptions, and 3rd reception in 2003 in India, my father in law talked them out of the third wedding cerimony).

Anyways in 2001 we didn't have much money, hubby graduated in winter 2000 remember, right as all the dot coms had crashed. Of course he was in computers. So he had been looking for a job since then. He finally got one teaching at a small college in Georgia after our wedding and honeymoon. So the plans for a honeymoon to Greece were decided against, cost too much. My parents however have a timeshare in Florida right outside Disney (waves to Cypress Point), so they offered the use of it for our honeymoon. Well we couldn't get Cypress Point but we got one of the other properties right off site, so lodging is free. My parents also paid for our plane tickets, so our costs were just food, tickets and rental car, not too bad overall. So we went to Disney for a week for our honeymoon, ended up flying standby home to get an earlier flight because I got sick the last day or two of our week long honeymoon (heat sick sigh I hate hot weather, hense why we are going back in August right?).

We decided we'd go back to Disney World for our 5th aniversery since we did have lots of fun other then the whole me getting heat sick thing. So 5 years later we are going back (ie this trip report).

Further Back Background: I've been to Disney a couple of times in my childhood, first time I went my mom was pregnant with me, I don't remember much from that trip. The second time I went my Grandparents took me and my sister (and my parents, my mom was pregnant with the twins). I was 5, I remember looking Spaceship Earth, made everyone ride it with me about 29390438 times. Don't remember much else, I know we stayed on site but I can't tell you where. My parents went back when they twins were 2 and a half and took them, but left me and my sister at home, we felt that was unfair, they felt school was more important (bad parents no cookie).

I didn't get to go again till I was 14, my parents got a free trip at Cypress Point if they listened to the timeshare offer. So all 6 of us got to go. My parents decided that Cypress Point was a decent deal so bought in. There were 6 of us, it was a 3 bedroom condo, it worked well. So we went back the next two years. Hate to say it but by the third trip we were all a bit burned out on Disney so that was the last time we went until I went for my honeymoon.

Now atty didn't go when he was young, however his 7th grade class trip was to Disneyworld, so he got to go then, and the next two years with his parents due to confrences (no I can't spell sorry) and such. He had fun but was also burned out after 3 years of Disney so he didn't go back till our honeymoon either.

Okay enough background for now. We may actually get to the pre-trip stuff in my next post, who knows?

Coming up: Disneyland on the 4th of July are you Insane?

The answer to this questions in case you are curious is yes. Anyways on with my trip report.

More Background (but more recent): Last year 2005 for our vacation we were going to Arizona, but our timeshare got screwed up (I thought it went through it didn't, we realized this about a week before we were supose to go, my dad was able to get us a place in Palm Springs California, semi close to Arizona at least). So since we were going to be in Palm Springs anyways, over hubby's birthday (his birthday is July 1st), I suggested we were only a couple of hours from Disneyland so maybe we could go there for the 4th of July. He thoght it was a great idea. So the plan was made.

So one of out vacation days we went to Disneyland, on the 4th of July, it was actually fairly empty when we got there around noon. We got a fast pass to Indiana Jones and wandered the park, I'm sure we rode something while waiting. Got off Indiana Jones and got another fast pass (we found our favorite ride yay! I love this ride, I really wish Disney World would add it). We also rode Haunted Mansion (who doesn't like ghosts?), Pirates of the Carribean (about 5 times, we actually like Disney World's verision better, what can I say we are strange), Teacups, Winnie the Pooh (2 or 3 times), Peter Pan (and such type rides), saw the Tiki Birds, and the Jungle Cruise, rode Indiana Jones and got another fastpass (yes we rode it 3 times (maybe 4?)). We ended up leaving before the fireworks, the park got crowded around 3pm or so, and atty hurt his ankle and was limping by 8:30pm so we decided to call it a day and head back to the car and drive back to the condo. We had fun, we got caught up in buying pins (we are collectors at least pins are smaller then some thing we collect), bought golden ears, though I did forget to pick up a t-shirt (got a friend to send me one, when she was there though so it worked out). Overall a fun, fairly packed day.

Anyways when we got back home from vacation we realized that 2006 was our 5 year aniversery so we were going back to Disney World next year yay!

Now onto the trip planning:

Fast forward a few months, around November I start thinking about planning our Anivesery trip, atty's responce being "It is November we've got awhile, you know like 9+ months till we are going, you have time." I ignored him as I am wont to do. I looked over the Disney site (hadn't found this site yet) looking at the various hotels, picked out the three we would like based on descriptions, plus the three that were possibly in our budget: Pop Century, Carribean Beach Resort and Animal Kingdom. Sure the Epcot and Monorail resorts looked nice, but there was no way I was getting atty to agree to $300+ a night on a hotel room (I got him to agree to $299 for 3 nights in NYC over New Years, but this is Disney I am sure we can find something cheaper then the price of a hotel on Times Square over New Years). I then started pricing packages, I found that the price difference between a Moderate and Deluxe when the Moderate is in regular season and the Deluxe is in value season means that there is no way I'm not spending the extra on a Deluxe. So our options narrowed to Pop Century or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

We discussed it a bit in December, we decided in January that it was our 5th aniversery and probably our last Disney trip without kids for quite a few years, so we would go in style and go for the Deluxe. We then looked and saw the dining plan. Hmm good idea or no?

Next up: Free Dining? Hey if we move our dates we can get it, it will save us money right?

So did I want the dining plan, we needed tickets anyways, we had 3 days or so left from our 7 day parkhoppers back during our aniversery, but I had given one of them to my brother in thanks for helping us move, so we only had one left anyways. So we were going to be getting a package most likely with the room and tickets so did we want dining.

Hmm, let's compare, when we were there in 2001 what did we eat, without the dining plan what would we eat, how much is the dining plan? Hmm okay looks like we break even with the dining plan and since we would have only gotten 4 sit down meals for our 8 night stay without the dining plan, this works out nicer. So dining plan is a go. So I book us online for 8 nights at AKL, with 9 day park hoppers (no waterparks and more, hubby and I arent' really water park people or thrill ride people for that matter) and dining. Yay it is January and we are booked!

Now I find AllEars and Dis ohh how pretty look other Obessive Disney planners I've found my home! I also buy a couple of Disney planning books, the unoffical guide, the offical guide and passporter. Hmm restaraunt, ADR? Oh I call for reservations at 180 days out (you are obbessive we can just decide when we are there from unknowing hubby, hah!). So it is almost my 180 day window where do we want to eat hmmm. Well we did Coral Reef and CRT for dinner last time we were there and hubby wants to repeat those two places, okay that is two meals. Now to find more. Now for meal planning I do have a slight problem hubby can't eat meat. It makes him sick, he's alergic or intollerant or something anyways he can't eat it, so I have to chose restaraunts that offer food he can and will eat. Fortunately he can eat fish, this makes life much easier, since he likes Salmon and almost all restaraunts offer Salmon if no other fish.

So I look I've got two restaraunts planned, hmm where else, well everyone is raving about Le Cellier, I like steak so sounds good, we're staying at AKL so we'll do Boma and Jiko too, hmm where else... Hmm nothing at MGM looks good, that is fine it is our least favorite park anyways, hmm Spoodles looks interesting, hmm hubby wants to do Rainforest Cafe (we're members of their club) not on the dining plan, but sure why not means I can add another 2 TS meal how about Flying Fish for our aniversery on the 3rd, yep sounds good, oh and I'll add in Boma Breakfast too. Okay so anyone who can add sees that I was a bit over the TS limit. That's okay we were paying for CRT since it isn't worth 2TS credits and we'll pay OOP for Boma Breakfast so we're set credit wise. So 180 days out I have hubby call and get our reservations, it works out yay we're all planned! Now to relax until July (hahaha).

So skip forward a couple more months to April. Hmm Free dining is being offered and as a Disney Visa member I can change my dates to get it first. Hmm well we are going over our aniversery, but hmm free dining if I change my dates by 2 weeks, decisions, decisions. After talking it over with hubby we decided to go for it oh and add two nights to our reservation to bring us up to 10 nights, since we will still be saving money right?

Or not, see we booked Standard view for AKL figuring we would see the animals anyways from the windows and such, plus we figured if we had a bit extra money we could upgrade to Savanah view when we got there. Hmm no standard view rooms left when we want to go only Pool view... Hmm so free dining is adding $100 to our costs, oops  .

Up Next: Now I have to redo my dining again?

So we're now booked August 14th - 24th, but I have to redo my dining plans since I get two more TS credits, I know we'll just add Artist Point, since hubby thought it sounded good, that leaves us one night without dinner, but we can figure out something there right? So I have hubby call Disney Dining again, and cancel our old reservations and make us new ones (actually I had him do this before we booked for free dining, since if we couldn't get the restaraunts we were staying at our old dates), fortuantely we got everywhere we wanted, though we had to move around a day or two, but no big deal.

Oh we're going for extra nights we can do Cirque, back on our honeymoon we had tickets for Cirque and I got sick, so we had to cancel them and get vouchers, that were good for one year, so I gave them to my brother, since we weren't going to be back in time. So we didn't get to see Cirque and I still wanted to see it. So we'll add that in. Hmm you know we can go to Rainforest Cafe anytime we want up here in Maryland since there is one about 30 minutes away, why don't we try something different in Disney, so we decided to add Raglan Road after Cirque rather then Rainforest Cafe. So another dining reservation is made. We also change our Coral Reef from 2 people to 4, because we are supose to meet my cousin while we're in Disney (doesn't look like it is happening now, but we have the reservations so we're keeping it).

Okay now we are really set (a couple of the various changes happen at various times, but everything is set by mid June). So all we need to do is wait the next two months for Disney right?

Up next: Morning Sickness and Disney?

Okay skip forward a few weeks. Hubby just put a new floor in the room that will be our nursery one day. So I suggest we paint it as a nursery before we put all the junk that has been living in it back in it. He agrees. Cool now to chose colors, we are going for a Winnie the Pooh theme, we both like Winnie the Pooh. I don't like the themes that they suggest on the Disney Paint site, so I come up with my own, a bit brighter not as pastel. 8 colors of paint, you know a simple choice. Apparently I am psychic since we buy the paint last weekend (well 4 of the 8 colors), I haven't been feeling quite right for the previous week, a bit nauseous, not to actual ZZUBing levels, but still not quite right. Plus a couple of other odd things like a metalic taste in my month. So on the Monday when hubby is still working on the first stage of painting the nursery (he works from home Fridays and Mondays one of the few positives of his current job). I take a home pregnancy test. Hmm look at that I think that is two lines, hmm unexpected this is.

So apparently a year before we were planning, there was a small surprise, well I'm happy at least, hubby is still in partual shock. Hmm well hopefully the nausea doesn't get worse. Hmm this changes plans a bit. We were going to actually try some rollercoasters this trip to Disney, we don't normally, since neither of us are really rollercoaster people, but we figured we'd try one or two, oh well guess that is out now... Hopefully the whole nausea piece doesn't lead to ZZUBing at Disney though, because that is really low on my disney plans. I guess we'll have to wait 8 days to see.

So instead of our fun 5th aniversery trip before kids, we get our fun 5th aniversery trip, while pregnant with our first, should be interesting in the lovely heat of August.

And apparently while I am not expecting a lot of responces, I am expecting myself to be a bit verbose. I guess that works...

Up Next: Packing? and Buying.

Thanks for sharing. I look forward to hearing how your trip goes. I have never done Disney pregnant. I did do a San Diego beach trip when I was pregnant with my second.

I am sure you have heard this over and over, Be sure to drink plenty of water!

Congradulations on your pregnancy. Just remember to go to the parks early and take a long afternoon break.

I am very much enjoying your TR, please keep it coming.

And congratulations to you and hubby!

Congratulations on your pg. Great start to the story. I love reading backround info for the TRs. :thumbsup2

Have fun! We'll be celebrating our first anniversary in WDW the same time as you! I hope you both have a great time!

First of, yay I have readers! Hi everyone who responded, thanks for your congrats, and good wishes. Second yes water is big in my plans. Now on for more pre-trip report, I was going to wait for tomorrow, but I feel like continuing today.

Okay so I've been buying things for this trip for the past few months. Disney Shopping has been having some really nice sales. So I talk to hubby, because we need new luggage, or year old cheap bright blue Target suitcases have been seriously banged up (poor bags, they are bright blue to be easier to find, no one has bright blue bags). So Disney Shopping has their Mickey Mouse luggage on sale. Now back in 2001 we bought a really cool Winnie the Pooh carpet bag, with the plan to finish off the set, unfortuantely between then and now we never did and Disney Shopping no longer seems to carry it :( (lost a set of nice Winnie the Pooh dishes by waiting as well, guess that should teach us our lesson, it won't but it should). So we decide since the Red Mickey Mouse luggage is on sale for $35 or so we will go ahead and buy it, since even if we don't use it that often, it is fairly cheap at the moment. So in goes our order, I believe I order a pin and a snowglobe too. A Knemo snowglobe because who doesn't like Finding Nemo, plus we are redoing K-line's room in Finding Nemo style so it will work in there.

Get our order yay we now have luggage. Hmm you know we both need bathing suits, oh look the Disney Store has them on sale, let's get them, oh and maybe we'll get some shirts, hmm if I spend 25$ more I get 25$ off, hubby needs a few more shirts right? So next order goes out and I get my Disney shirts, and bathing suits, now we are really getting ready here, plus it is a nice way to pass my time while waiting for the actual Disney trip right?

So I read on the tip board, buy $1 ponchos and just bring them with you if it rains, oh nice idea, so off to Target everyone's favorite store, look rain ponchos for $1 let's get 6 oh and travel laundry detergent just in case good planning me!

Then we go shopping at the mall oh look the Disney Store oh look they have cheap pins, oh I know we can pick up a few since they aren't pins we would keep anyways and that way we can trade them at Disney. Some tradeable pins are now purchases. Hmm Target again, hubby needs pants for Disney and shorts (he doesn't wear shorts anywhere but on vacation, but it will be hot outside he'll appriciate them). So more shopping insues, hmm I'm really getting good at spending money aren't I?

Oh I forgot I bought a new digital camera too. Back in Novemeber I bought a cute little point and shoot, because I found that when we were in California, hubby would never let me use the SLR. He always wanted it, and hey I want to take pictures too. So I got myself a small camera so I didn't have to argue to much with him about getting my turn with the SLR. So the camera takes nice pictures, but well when the flash is used it is slow to recycle, I noted this as my cousin's wedding. So of course I had to get a new camera. So I am now the proud owner of a much faster refresh camera when the flash is on, and hubby can use the old point and shoot when he doesn't want to bring the huge camera that is the SLR along on our daily travels around Disney, and I won't have to fight him for use of the camera, yay we both win.

So now a week before the trip our shopping for it is done right (bwhaha, if you believe this I have a nice bridge to sell you). At least most of the major stuff is done, though. I am ordering water from Staples tomorrow or Tuesday to send to the hotel, 4 cases I think, that gives me 5 or 7 bottles a day and hubby 3 or so. We still need to go back to Target for plane snacks and generic travel stuff (you know all the stuff you buy and then never actually use) and we can't forget the bookstore. I like to read a lot, so I'll need a few dozen new books for the trip (well at least 10 or 11, I mean I'm gone 10 nights, who can' go to bed without reading a book? Not me for sure). As for the packing part of this post, I think we have some clean clothes, but we definately have no started packing, I figure we'll start Sunday night like we always do. You know you leave on Monday at 5am for the airport, so everything must be packed the night before, since that gives plenty of time to go shopping for last minute items (or at least to buy them at Disney, close enough right?).

Up next: How long can she amuse you with pre-trip stuff? Or we're not dead yet.

Congrats to you both on your new bundle to be and your trip!!! I remember doing disney pregnant. Fives months to be exact. I was preg with my first baby and I had morning/noon/night sickness for the first five months. It was amazing though, at almost to the day, that I turned five months, which was one week before my trip, my morning/noon/night sickness stopped, cold turkey. Almost like my body knew that it HAD to get better. It was in early May that we went (my friend and I - hubby was out to sea-again) and we were bored, so we decided on a trip to Disney. We lived in Va. Beach at the time and it was reall hot already, so we figured it couldnt be that bad in Fl. YEAH RIGHT. With lots of advice on going/packing when pregnant, I was lucky and stayed relatively comfy, as much as a mid-trimester pregnant woman could anyway. I brought plenty of sleevless/spag. strap tops, good comfortable (expensive) shoes, wore my hair up alot and bought a misting fan once I got there. Also, very very very important (as I see that you have thought ahead) drink drink drink drink drink drink PLENTY of WATER. Also, come back to your hotel mid afternoon and have nap or pool or both break. Ok, I am sorry I am blabbering on and on. I am done now, really. LOL Again, good luck and have a great trip. We arent going until October and it seems like it will never get here. Take care.

enjoying the pre-trip report! :)
Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Thanks all for the comments.

So we're basically caught up onto today. Not much happened today. I talked to my mom yesterday on the phone though and she enjoyed telling me how much she enjoyed Disney with morning sickness when she was pregnant with me, and how she hoped I didn't have quite as many experiences with the bathrooms in Magic Kingdom as she did (since that was the only park open then). I could tell she was kind of hoping I would have some, I call this parental payback. Hey you weren't born yet, but I got sick all over Magic Kingdom because of you, so here's to karma. I'm hoping karma is nicer then that, though knowing karma it is a losing bet.

Other then that I did go to paypal and transfer the money I had been saving there into my bank account so that we have funds for souveniers and such when we are at Disney, so that should be taken care of. I thought about ordering water, but decided I'd rather take a nap, the tired pregnancy thing kicking in, so I'll do that tomorrow. We went out to pick up dinner tonight and got home to a message from Disney saying make sure you've made your ADRs because it is going to be hard to get a restaraunt when you get there. I find that nice of them, though I would have found it nicer if they called more then a week out, when I won't be able to get much even if I called now. So today not much happened on the getting ready for Disney front.

I did however get an OB/GYN appointment, for August 25th the day after we get back from Disney, which will be fun, I hope or at least educational.

Up next: Will she pack? will she procrastinate?

We bought bright blue luggage for the same reason! Great TR, and congrats on the pregnancy! When are you due? You should stop by the Moms to Be thread on the Community Board.
