Sorry for the long url, this came from CBS Marketwatch.

Disney is going to start letting users download movies for $2.99 - 4.99 for 30 days. It includes recent movies like Gangs and Chicago.

I don't see this as a real money maker at the present time. I can't believe that there is that many people willing take the time to download, if they even have the capacity, and then want to watch movies on their PC.

This is a deal with Movielink so my guess is Disney would get a license fee as well as some small cut from each download without much out-of-pocket costs. Still, I can't see it being a great deal of revenue now or in the near future.

5 bucks for a 24-hour rental of a barebones movie of inferior quality? They've got to be kidding, especially when you can get the complete DVDs through Netflix for $20 a month, or just rent them at a local video store for less than that.
