Anyone every book their air through disney? I know it can be more expensive, but were you happy with the flight times?

I booked through Disney -- flew a regularly scheduled flight with my favorite airline (guess I was lucky) -- the flight was a bit earlier than my DW would have liked (7am) but I was happy to be up and on my way to vacation.

I have opted for air for future cruises as well -- figured it's one way to avoid fuel price increases.

And if it looks like airfares have come down significantly, I can always change before the final 75-day window.

bottom line -- it doesn't cost me anything extra right now to include the airfare in my reservation, and it might really work out in the long run

It was ok, but I will book my own air in the future. We had a 1hr 30 min layover on the way up, and a 4 hr layover on the way back. I did not mind the layovers, but we did not get our information on the flights until 30 days before. Disney did not reserve our seat assignments though, I had to call the airline. I could not get seats together on 2 of the flights.

It all worked out in the end, I was able to get people to switch seats on the plane. The airline "delta" however was not very cooperative in helping me with that. They said they could not do anything and I would have to try and switch after getting on the plane.

The plane on the way up had no leg room, less then Southwest. It was the longest flight to. Very uncomfortable.

The cruise was great though, all and all we had a great time.

If you do book your own airfare, I would just suggest coming in the day before. That way you are guarented to get on the boat on time.

Hope this helps

Just got back from sailing the magic 5-6-06

I probably should have mentioned that I am in metro NYC -- so plenty of direct flights to MCO. I'm not sure I would trust Disney to get me the most convenient connection

Hello!

Our flights were direct and great times. They were also cheaper than any direct flights I could find!!

Good luck!

Our flights in February were awesome, got one way flights at decent times. I did find out my flight arrangments by calling DCL about 2 months before our trip (otherwise i would not have known until I got my documents). They gave me all my flight info and I was able to call and schedule our seating assignments and much to my surprise, Disney had already had it done for me. No problems at all with Disney, just one more part of our trip that was worry free. I have also heard that IF for some reason your flights are delayed, if you planned through Disney they will hold the ship for you. If you book flights on your own.........well, you could miss the ship. We had a very good experience and we let them make our arrangments again for our next trip in January. Good Luck!

On our cruise, the flight was nonstop, it was done through disney, but early. We were from NJ, so there are plenty of nonstop flights to MCO.
