Disney After Hours: a full priced review!

I was surprised by your conclusion. It sounded positively lovely and quite magical - exactly what *I* am hoping for me and my DH to have on our upcoming kid-free trip <3 It was surprising to read how great it was but that you still did not find it to have value. Shrug. To each her own. I, for one, am hoping they will do one of these during our trip...

I'm not surprised by the OP's conclusion. Many of us had her same experience years ago with the old E-Ride ticket nights. Those tickets were @$15 each! I haven't read a review yet that makes this event a value item if you have to pay full price.

Maybe my opinion would be different if I had never experienced the E-ride ticket nights.

Actually, just a few posts above yours is a review from a poster who did exactly that. They didn't have a multi-day pass and their choices were a single day ticket or the more expensive DAH ticket. They chose the latter and found it to be worth the upcharge. And I can absolutely see this. There is definitely a benefit to buying this if your other option is a single day ticket. Is it worth the cost if you already bought a $400 multi-day pass? Debatable, and many who are reporting back say no. But despite the extreme skepticism here that there really are people who buy single day tickets, there really are such people and they are a perfect match for this promotion.

I read that review, and IN MY OPINION, it isn't a value. Again, my opinion is based on my experience with the much cheaper e ride nights. I paid $15 for the same experience that is now priced at $150.

I"m stating this as an opinion not fact

My concern with this even is at what point will it begin to pick up steam and with that - will WDW allow more attendees? I've been back and forth on whether or not I think this will be a value to us (myself and DD24) and I think at this point I'm in the "ya, this could be a great event for us".

But it will quickly lose value for us if attendance begins to slowly increase.

And maybe Disney has jaded me over the past year but I believe increase in allowable attendance isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Thank you for your full price review OP as that is how we'll be doing it if the event continues to be available through fall. :-)

Had you used the words "in my opinion" or "to me", that point would have come across. Instead, your post reads as if no one has found this to be a value on an objective basis. After all, it says "if you have to pay full price" and not "if I have to pay full price". But thanks for the clarification.

Wow.

The last sentence in that posts states that my opinion was based on my previous experiences.

I didn't scream at you. But if you makes you feel better to think/say I did, then so be it.LOL

My Disney Experience will allow you to book FastPass+ reservations using your special event ticket, but you don't receive a RFID ticket when you check in (you jut get a lanyard). So if you want to use FastPass in conjunction with this event you need a Magic Band. I didn't have one, so I ended up buying a band at one of the stores and activating it through the website while I was in the park. Once that was done Fast Passes worked perfectly.

Quick tip: This party has a will call or print your ticket option. Both could be linked to MDE to get the fastpasses for earlier in the day. The will call does give you a hard ticket to use with fastpass for anyone that doesn't have or want a magicband but wants to get fastpasses for earlier in the day.

Thanks for the review. If they still offer in August, I will pay full price to do it. With just the two of us, it's worth it to skip the heat of midday and have super low crowds. It is a once in a life time trip for us so I feel like we can splurge a little. Any word on if these will continue past this test period?

I did a DAH and had had similar experiences back when EMH was 3 hours long.

Oh wow, that would be great if the crowd levels were the same. I think a lot of the draw for me is just the peace of mind knowing that I would have a few hours of extremely low crowds. With EMH, you never really know what you are walking in to, if that makes sense :)

I believe this will happen. No doubt.

Just to clarify, E-ticket nights were $15 on top of a daily ticket. So while you'd have the whole day and then the night, you still had to pay a park entry plus the 15 bucks. Of course, if you wanted a full day and DAH, it would cost a lot more, but it's inaccurate to say E-tickets were just $15, because they were $15 o top of a park ticket.
