Hi all,

We will be visiting Disneyland during the first week of December with our three children ages 5, 3 and 18 months old.We were planning to stay at the Residence Inn Maingate but having checked out the Homewood Suites, it works out to be about $400 cheaper for our 9 day stay.

My question is which one of the above would you choose to stay in.. I know the Homewood Suites is further away and it charges for parking..

One other question- which days of the week is less crowded? We have a choice of going from tues-fri or wed-sat..

Thanks to everyone in advance..

We really liked our stays at the HS. They remodeled in 2008 and the rooms are nice. I think the RI Maingate is starting to show some wear, but it gets great reviews on these boards. I don't know if your family could handle the walk from the RI Maingate...especially on a long trip. The HS now has a semi-private shuttle (for a fee) which might be a nice alternative to taking ART or driving. HS also has (or did in 2008 & 2009) a managers meal with beer & wine. Our stay at the RI Resort had the meals but no beer & wine (not that we are lushes, but after a long day at he parks, it was nice :) )

I'd recommend tues-fri, I've always found Saturday to be the busiest day any week. :goodvibes

Thanks all for the quick replies...:)

So definitely going on tues- friday then.. Will the fireworks, WOC and Fantasmic be on every night that we will be there?

I also don't have any info on those 2 resorts.

As far as the nighttime entertainment last year they had the Holiday Fireworks and WoC nightly. Fantasmic was just Fri - Sun nights.
