Disney Adventures magazine

I ordered this magazine a year ago when someone posted the 3 years for ....$7.00?...

We were one of the people that got the subscription without too much hassle but now

I noticed my daughter hadn't gotten a magazine in a couple of months so I called the 800 number for subscriptions. The girl tells me they stopped publishing the magazine in November! We had 21 months left on the subscription! No notice...nothing....poof , no more magazine. The rep is checking to see if she can transfer my subscription to something else. Something tells me we are SOL

Just wanted to let everyone know since obviously the company is not going to tell anyone!

Wow, funny you should mention this because it made me realize my daughter hasn't received hers either! I had ordered her subscription through Best Deal Magazines. I've ordered other magazines through their site and have been very pleased, but Disney Adventures took months before we got her first magazine. I think she has received at least two copies, maybe three, and I guess that is all we are getting.

OMG! It hadn't hit me that we haven't gotten one either. Keep us posted if you find out about a refund, etc.

I had thought about that very thing back in December before Christmas got hectic, that we hadn't received a copy lately. That is very irriatating! When a magazine stops being published wouldn't you think that everyone subscribing to it would get some kind of notice?????

I had read here on the boards that they decided to stop publication! I had three years left on our subscription too!

My DD looked forward to it every month - and she read it cover to cover! You know Disney does this stuff to us - first the Disney Magazine - then Disney Adventures - they have changed the way they book rooms to charge more on the weekends - they have changed the DDP - took away appetizer and gratuity - they don't have a general 800 number to make reservations or ask questions unlike the rest of the free world! - It seems as if every decision they make is in their favor - to increase their bottom line - BUT we seem to gladly accept it and continue to make our ressies and ADR's and save our pennies to go!

We would most likely boycott other companies that treated us this way!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH US???

Wow, thanks for the heads up! We have a prepaid subscription (from a fundraiser) and we were going to get this again. I would have been irate if I submitted it only to find out it isn't around any more! However, now I have to change my cards which were filled out ready to send!!!

Thanks for the heads up. My son was just saying the other day that he hadn't received his new issue. Please let us know what you hear so we can all follow up too! I am not happy that they weren't going to notify us!!


It's a kids mag filled with Disney fun and entertainment. It had comics, fun info, info on Disney shows but also threw in other stuff like Harry Potter etc...

Yes, DD had ordered her renewal from a fund-raiser in October. She hadn't received an issue for awhile, but I just figured it was taking awhile for the renewal to be activated. We got a letter last month saying it was discontinued and we needed to choose a new magazine or request a refund.

I am one of the unfortunate people who not only paid the stupid $7 to netmagainzes and was refused my subscription, but after several emails and promises from them for a refund, I never got my money back, either.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day. I came across one of the magazines in a drawer and realized we hadn't received an issue in a little while. I think we received 2 issues maybe. I got it through magazines.com and didn't pay much at all but still. They should at least let you know and give you options.

I just talked to Disney adventures subscription dept and was told a letter is going out to all subscribers with the option to subscribe to an alternate magazine or get a refund. It can not be taken care of on the phone only once the letters are sent because she was not even sure what magazines would be an alternative yet. As for the refund don't expect much because when they stopped their last magazine the refund they offered me was a joke it came to pennies a month.

My dd11 also subscribed to Disney Adventures last year and loved it! We renewed it through her school fundraiser and received a letter saying it was no longer being published and that we were going to get a subscription to Family Fun instead. It is also published by Disney. You might want to check and see if you can get the remainder of your subscription switched over to that. It isn't a magazine for kids but you might enjoy it.

Well, I knew it had been awhile since we'd seen one...thanks for posting. Now I have to tell ds, and it will break his heart. It's one of the few things he would read without being told to, and he read it cover to cover.

We already have a subscription to Family Fun, so hopefully we will be offered something else as well.

I'm trying to remember when I renewed...and hoping we got most of the issues we paid for.

We were just contacted (via email) that we will now be getting Family Fun magazine. I'm in shock but pleased since we had 21 months left on the subscription.

We got postcards in January telling us that our subscriptions were being transferred to Sports Illustrated for Kids or we could request a refund. So I called for the refund and they said they would make a note but that it would be late February or early March before they got the subscription list from Disney Adventures to make the transfers. I'll call back the end of February to see what they say then.

It's too bad that DA quit publishing because my boys looked forward to getting the magazine every month.

I have been back and forth via email with them for months and they keep saying the magazine discontinued in November and they will be contacting people

I told them well I am contacting you now! And then I dont hear back until I start again. This last time I havent heard back at all

I told them it would have been nice if they had a plan before they just stopped publishing without telling anyone.

I hope they dont try to give me Family Fun because we already get it!
