Yes, its exactly the same. With old money it was really complicated, as there were 20 shillings in a pound and 12 pennies in a shilling, and a crown was 5 shillings and half a crown 12s 6d, we had a thruppeny bit which was cute and chunky, and a sixpence (as in the nursery rhyme) which was also called a tanner....you can see why we went decimal in 1971
