I've been hoping that we would get a code, but it doesn't look like that is happening. Anyhow, what's the deal with AAA discounts? We've managed to luck out with free dining and AP rates in the past, but if free dining isn't offered for this fall, I'm looking for other discounts.

Generally, what is the AAA discount for room only ressies and packages? Do you have to be AAA when you reserve or is it like APs where you just have to have one before your actual trip? Can I find the AAA rates online or do I have to go through a AAA travel agent?

Thanks!

For AAA room only reservations, you can call disney or go through AAA. If you want a package with a AAA discount on the room portion, then you need to go through a AAA travel agent. The discount is usually 10 - 20 percent off the rack rate. If there is a free dining offer, then you won't be able to double dip, there will not be a discount available on the room portion. Sometimes you need to give a AAA number when you call disney to make a reservation and sometimes they don't ask. They will tell you that you need to present the card at check in. If you go to the AAA web site, it asks for a zip code so they can send you to your local site. Some seem to show you the discounted rate for room only reservations, some don't.
