I have absolutely no idea where this fits in the Disboards, so thought I would post here and let it get moved, if necessary.

I just started getting into 3D printing and found a very interesting collection on Thingiverse which has downloads of items to print. This site is probably not news to those into 3D printing already. But I just found this one section on there about Disney items to print, such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad station, haunted houses atboth Disneyland and Disneyworld, and a myriad of other Disney items.

This thread reminded me that I tried making a tealight holder out of this guy's Spaceship Earth model a couple months ago. I had given up, and it turned out I was just trying too complex of a way. Finally yesterday, I just shrunk it a little (to fit on my small delta) and just carefully placed a cylindrical hole in the bottom just the right diameter for the battery-operated tealight I have on hand. Printed it out in clear PLA yesterday afternoon/evening, and it turned out pretty good. Currently I'm printing out a Cinderella Castle (also one of WEDimagineer's designs) with the same idea, but that one required a little more precise finessing in the cut-out shape and positioning due to its greater complexity.

I'm a relative newbie to 3D printing myself. DH received one as a gift this February, but he's technologically challenged so it became mine. So far I've got the how of 3D printing more or less down, but the what (to print) I'm still having trouble with. So far I've printed a few mod items for my printer, a couple utilitarian items, and a few decorative items. The aforementioned Castle and SSE are part of my intended window decoration for my stay at Pop Century next February.
