Disney’s Tree house Villas to Re-Open

I wonder if they will be dvc properties? Never stayed in one but always wanted to. They remind me of Swiss family robinson house.

Wow! I stayed there as a teen in the late 70's, I would love for my kids to be able to stay there. I love the new floor plan with everything upstairs, the shape of them is just so neat!
I still can't see how they are getting past the ADA rules, wouldn't they have to put elevators in each of them? Or, if they are calling them part of SSR can they say "Well, we have many units in compliance with ADA but just these few that are not?":confused3
I hope it doesn't take forever to do this, I wanna stay there NOW!!!

My parents and siblings stayed in them when I was in college, early 80's. They loved them and were very dissapointed when they were closed. One of their favorite parts was the peacocks that seemed to patrol the grounds in the am. I think though that in order to be in compliance with ADA rules there needs to be a certain percentage that is lower. :dance3:

I stayed there with my family when I was younger. I am so happy to hear that they are coming back! When we took the boat from the POR to DTD last year, and pasted them, they bring back fond memories for me.

Don't confuse ground footprint (340 sq feet) with the floor space of the villa which will be eight feet higher than the ground ....

The villages are much larger than 84 sq feet.

See the link in my sig for details and even floor plans.

We stayed in the Treehouses when our children were young in the mid 80's. We loved it. We were on what was then called the "Grand Plan" = basically an all inclusive. We rented a golf cart and would drive over to the Clubhouse for breakfast.
It was one of our nicest WDW vacations. We loved the Treehouses and would have gone back again, if it was still an option.
I hope they are available to the public for cash, vs inclusion in the DVC inventory. JMHO

Even if they are in the DVC inventory, they should be also available to the public for cash. All DVC properties at WDW are.

As discussed extensively in the thread linked in my signature, inclusion to an existing DVC resort is highly unlikely. That would require a revision of that DVC resorts charter, the addition of points to that resort's point schedule, a vote from the full membership and a complete change in terms for every member who has already bought at that resort.

Too much headache... too much paperwork.

Could they be their own DVC resort, for which points could be purchased? Maybe.. but all DVC resorts can be had by cash-paying guests so that wouldn't be that much of a hardship.

Only 4 would need to be accessible, not all of them.

I explained it more in this thread from earlier this week.
