Hi all,
Let’s hear about your duct tape adventures/solutions. Here is my latest,

A few weekends ago, after a few adult root beers, I was changing the laundry over and noticed the excessive lint build-up down in the dryer. So the nearest tool was a bic pen, after a short attempt the pen dropped down into the lint “shoot” and that is not what I stated about the situation.

After a short consultation with myself, I produced a roll of COSTCO sized duct tape and fresh wire hanger. With the wire hanger now straightened, I attached a 8” strip of tape to the end, inserted into lint trap hole and removed pen. Papa MacGyver does it again. BTW the excess lint is still in place and the hanger was hung up on my desk….

A few nights later, preparing for a turkey hunting trip with my 6 year old daughter, I restrung my tent poles. The Duct Tape was great to attached the old cord to the new cord, so I could just pull through all the poles. (FYI REI sells replacement cord, about 0.15 per foot) The coat hanger helped again dislodging the rope back out of the all four tent poles.

okay you asked...right now the screen in our fron door is duct taped all around the edges because the dogs love to "lean in" and knock it out, the right headlight of my car is duct taped in place..with the FL heat clear tape "melts" too fast :rotfl:

Duct tape is a gift from God. I have so many uses for it I cannot list them all. And now that is comes in a huge assortment of colors, it makes things even easier than before.

I too have been called Macgyver and always take it as a compliment.

Duct tape: Love it love it love.

I will get back to you on my favorite and most innovative (in my opinion) uses recently.

:goodvibes

Ha ha duct tape. Man's best friend. I have been using it for as long as I can remember. Have repaired lawn chairs, mud flaps, gutters, you name it. I saw a wallet made from the stuff once.

I noticed on The Amazing Race either this season or last a guy pull a roll out of his backpack. Great planning! And it worked for what he needed, too!

LOL :rotfl:
are you sure you are not from Oklahoma?
Duct Tape and Baling wire will solve most anything.

Us okies are experts when it comes to duct tape:thumbsup2
We went skiing and my FIL had to take his 40 yr old skis and poles so my DH put them on top of the Surburban as we were driving it kept making a racket so I made my DH pull over I pulled out my handy duct tape problem fixed!! My FIL was shocked that I carry it with me. We used it to "fix" his bindings also.

Another story my sister is 16 and we were on a trip and her flip flop broke beyond repair and so we made her a shoe out of duct tape!! I'll have to find the pics. So I am passing my "duct tape love affair" to my little sister :cheer2:

our 5th wheel decided it wanted to come apart on the way to disney. you could stick your hand directly inside on corner from the outside. Hubby taped it until we could get to a lowes and fix it...

one the way home we were less than an hour away and the aluminum siding on the other side decided to give way and peel back to the insulation. Duct tape fixed that until we got home!!!

Holy smokes, here at Chez Polka Dot, we LOVE duct tape! One time on vacation, the kids were clamoring for some crazy-priced rubber band gun that would have cost us their college education. They just HAD to have them or they would surely never recover...you know the drill.

When we got back to the campground (rubber band gun-less), I had them find some sturdy sticks, about eight inches long. Let them cut a notch in one end. Then I had them attach a clothespin on top of the stick on the other end with duct tape. Voila! Rubber band gun. They LOVED them, and ended up creating all other kinds of toys with duct tape and sticks.

I also like how my pretty purple duct tape looks holding the poop hose carry tube closed on the bumper of the camper...

This was about 20 years ago, and I was renting an apartment. The landlord wasn't very quick to fix things. The paneling or whatever in the shower was peeling off and getting gross. I duct taped the WHOLE shower! It lasted about 9 months, probably longer but I moved :)

Here's a "Disney Duct Tape" story for you...

The day before leaving for Disney, I put my old tennis shoes through the washer/dryer. Big mistake because the soles began to slightly detach from my shoes. I quickly glued them back with an industrial glue and them wrapped them with duct tape to hold them together until they dried (this isn't the official duct tape story).

I thought all was fine, but upon entering Epcot on Day 1, it started pouring rain. Within minutes it became obvious that my glue of choice was not waterproof...I had flapping soles (like flippers).

I refused to spend my souvenir money on Disney Crocs or go back to the room, so I was searching for another solution. We went to several gift shops asking for rubberbands, but to no avail. Finally, we found our solution! The photo center had a roll of Duct Tape. :worship: We wrapped my shoes (with my feet in them) and were able to stay the rest of the day. At the end of the night, we just tossed the shoes. :thumbsup2

LOL we use duct tape a lot, but the best is my nephew, his wallet fell apart so he made a new one, from duct tape! LOL He used that thing for years and to this day I give him rolls of duct tape for Christmas. LOL
