My sister and her husband have booked a 1-bedroom suite at Kidani with an armed forces discount, and they asked my daughter and me to join them.

My daughter and I will have annual passes, so we do not need the military tickets that my sister and her husband will be purchasing.

My sister wants to add on the Disney Dining Plan, too. Will my daughter and I need to purchase a military ticket in order to add on the meal plan? I am assuming we would all need to be on the meal plan, since we will all be in the same room. Is that correct? I guess that I have two questions:

1. Do we all need to be on the dining plan, since we are sharing a room?

2. If we do all need to be on the dining plan, do I need to purchase a military ticket for me and my daughter? If so, could the value of it be used on a future annual pass the following summer?

Thanks!

No, you won't have to buy tickets. Disney allows this as a ticketless package, like they do for annual passholders. However, everyone registered in the room must be on the same dining plan for the duration of the reservation, so if they get the dining plan, you have to also.

Make sure that your sister has booked her reservation as a ticketless package. She may not have booked it as a package because she bought military tickets; these are sold separately. If she adds the dining plan it will become a package as opposed to a room-only reservation and will be subject to package cancellation and change policies.
