Disnelyand Paris in late Nov???

Hi,

My name is Kim, as you can probably tell this is my first post. This will be our 1st Disney vacation. We are strongly considering visiting DLP in Late Nov. The only thing holding us back is the weather. We have a 1 and 3 year old and just don't want to be miserably cold the entire time.

So has anyone else been in Nov? Any tips? Are there enough things to do inside in case the weather is horrible? Thanks so much for any info.

It was in mid November that we went in 2007, and ...we were miserably cold. Nah but it was really cold, and I remember because we were there 4 days 3 nights, and midway through when I came back to the room and took off my makeup, because we were outdoors so much my face was all red and puffy from the cold ! We wern't miserable though, we were happy but we were adults and it was all Christmas decorated and lovely but I can understand your concern with the little ones! Best wait for a few more responses from some proper experts though, I've only been the once but best wishes to you on your trip !

We went last year, first week in Dec. Me, hubby and our 3 girls (4 years, 22months and a 9 week old!) the day before we arrived they had over a foot of snow!!

We were cold but prepared for it, layers are the way forward, stay warm with flasks of tea/soup and do lots of the indoor things through the day to take the chill off. Its amazing a christmas time, so festive and beautiful. Go for it, we are booking to go back too (in fact going to book tomorrow) and this time we are going the week before xmas!!

Thanks for the responses ladies! I'm new to the board so I didn't see the trip reports sections before I posted this. I looked at some trip reports from Nov and pretty much decided from that to go ahead and book. We want to take a trip in Nov, because it is Thanksgiving for us so DH has the time off. I figure anywhere we go we will be cold, the kids might as well have fun too.

I think I will wear long johns under my clothes and bring snow pants/coats for the girls just in case.

Are there a lot of things to do inside?

We were there mid December last year and yes it was cold but it was great.

Thermal underwear is a must, DS (age 4)had a ski/snow suit and wore it constantly (normally he hates being too wrapped up but he didn't complain once not about the cold or the extra clothes). He and I had snow boots and my mother-in-law had ugg type boots. We even had hotdogs and chips outside one night for tea, albeit DS ate them with his gloves on..... Part of the fun.

There are inside shows like animagique, stitch and playhouse Disney and nice places to eat.

We stayed at DLH which was great as you were inside within minutes of leaving the park.

To be honest the cold didn't spoil things at all, it's worse in the rain......

We were there in mid-November last year and you could feel the days getting colder as the week went on but it didn't make us miserable at all. As long as you layer up you'll be fine. It couldn't have been that bad as we've booked to go back again this November.

I assume you'll have a pushchair for your 1 year old, I'd reccomend taking a warm buggy snuggle/ footmuff. We went in November 2009 and were caught out by the cold a bit. (It had been unseasonabally warm at home). However DD was fine because we had taken her footmuff which was like a sleeping bag. We were very jealous.

I think if you're prepared for the cold, you can still have a fabulous time at DLP, whatever the weather (its northern Europe, and its been built to accommodate the weather).

The least enjoyable trip we had, because we weren't prepared for the weather, was in March this year. It had been lovely early Spring weather for a good couple of weeks before we went, and it turned into freezing foggy greyness overnight, before we arrived. We did have gloves and fleeces, but proper winter coats, scarves and thermal socks would have come in handy.

Thank you so much for all of your replies, everything is really helpful. We are going to have to get the pushchair foot muff and invest in some long johns and make the best of the weather that we get. After finding out that it is "Christmas" season in Nov that pretty much pushed us over the edge. We are booked at the SL Nov. 23-26, I can't wait. Now to plan all the details.....I will probably have more questions. Thanks all!
