DisMom Princesses in training for the Princess 1/2

DisCo was supposed to be DisMom. I typed that from my cell phone and the autocorrect does some really weird things. The t-shirt place said they could only do one color on the tech shirts since they are polyester and will melt if they do more than one color. But we could do Lime green on the pink shirt assuming they have a lime green ink. So if we used the Mickey head with the crown that could all be in lime green and if the lettering is on the Mickey head that would show thru as pink. Or we could have the lettering off the Mickey head.

Don't you just love autocorrect! :rotfl: I don't know how many time I have to go back and correct texts I've sent or responses to emails, ect... Its almost more work then not using it.

Well there is no turning back now...I booked my flight!!! :woohoo:

:banana::dance3::banana:

Thanks Taryn! :thumbsup2 You rock! I so want to book our flight while the prices aren't too bad, but not enough funds to do that just yet. I probably could use miles for at least one ticket.:scratchin We are driving when we go in August so DH said if that goes well we will drive again in February.:drive: I would really just rather fly and get there in 3 hours rather than 17 to 18 hours.

I think that is one of the biggest things I'm dreading if we get stationed in Fort Worth... having to drive 18+ hours to get to Disney! We drive now and it is around 13 hours and I'm ok with it, but 18 just sounds so much worse! :scared1:

Thanks:flower3: for all your responses and encouragement. I am 99% certain that I am going to sign up, thanks to you guys pushing me off the fence I was on :rotfl: Went out to run another 5 miles today and ended up doing 4.91 :sad2:(AARRGGHH!) with more hills then I care to discuss! I think I have a few scrapes on my knuckles from them dragging on the ground...ugh...13 miles seems so far when I am an STRUGGLING to do 5. Gonna try 5 again Friday. I CAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT, I CAN DO IT.

Hi everyone! I'm about 99% sure I'll be joining you all for Princess in 2012!

Glad to hear I am not the only 99% 'er here!!

Get of the fence ladies and join the party!!! princess: My longest run to date is not even 3 miles yet so you can TOTALLY DO THIS!!!

I've been considering doing this myself. I have never run more than a 5K and that was one child ago BUT I have been back on the exercise wagon and am seriously thinking about signing up. I need to make the decision soon so I was searching for inspiration. I am pretty confident that I can get up to speed by then...plus it just sounds SO FUN!

I have still not even run a 5K! You can totally do this!!! princess:

Come join us! Most of us here are newbie runners. There is loads of support and encouragement here and on the official Princess 1/2 thread. The half does sound like a ton of fun. That's what got me hooked, and all the great ladies here!

Hi there, can I join? I just registered for the Princess yesterday :cheer2: so excited that my DH pushed me to do it (and we are planning a kid free long weekend to boot!). This will be my second half, I did the Des Moines Half Marathon last fall. I have been running only sporadically for the last few months, so now I pick myself up and start close to ground zero, LOL. We are staying at the BoardWalk with some DVC points.

Ummm...what else? I don't have any friends doing it with me, so maybe I can be friends with all of you? :goodvibes

WELCOME! You will love this race, so much entertainment along the way.

I ran it by myself last year, I went down with some friends, but we all ran at our own pace and I had a blast. This board is very supportive also! Happy Training.

Thanks ladies! I am so tickled to be doing this. I really needed motivation and to find my running mojo again.

Anyone else already thinking about what they are going to wear? :lmao:

Go back and read some of the old posts...we are ALL thinking about what we are going to wear! :rotfl:

Oh good, that makes me feel better! :thumbsup2

I am also curious about whether anyone is following a training plan. I used Hal Higdon's beginner plan for the half I did last fall, and I thought it prepared me really well. I know they recommend Galloway for the Disney ones, but I am leery of the two short weekday runs and one long weekend one. Has anyone done that?

I haven't signed up for the half yet. I really want to, but I'm having a hard time finding the motivation to get started. I downloaded the C25K app on my iPod, but I still haven't started it. I was doing really with my exercise until vacation. Any one have any suggestion for getting motivated?

Sign up! Once it was real it really made me focus on my training.

I would use the program that works best for you. I am on W7 of the C25K. I have not decided what program I will do once I complete that.
