DISmeet for 8-23-03 Eastern Magic Cruise

Interest in a DISmeet on the 8-23-03 Eastern Magic Cruise is gathering some momentum.

DisneyNutMary will be staying at the Radisson the night before the cruise. Tricia T says she's up for a DISmeet. Now we just have to figure when and where.

My family won't be arriving until Saturday morning of the cruise. Our flight gets in MCO between 9 and 9:30, we will then be taking the DCL bus to the terminal.

Would any DIS'ers like to plan a meet on the ship Saturday afternoon? From what I've been reading on these threads, quite a few DISmeets happen after the drill at 4pm. Completely open for ideas and suggestions. This is my first cruise, so I'm just a rookie at this. I think it will be neat putting faces with names. I will have my digital camera with me, maybe we can get someone to take a group shot, then after the cruise I can e-mail the photo to everyone.

I think Saturday afternoon sounds great! After the boat drill sounds like a good idea, by that time we should all have our post-boarding running around done!

As the time for our cruise gets closer, we can tie up all the loose ends and get idea of who wants to meet. Any suggestions of a meeting place, please jump in!

I went back to the threads and found where some of the favorite places DIS'ers have found for a DISmeet. I copied one reply and pasted it below. Just thought I'd throw this out for consideration.

"My personal favorite is behind Topsiders on Deck 9 right after the drill. It is fairly quiet there, because everyone is over at the beginning of the sailaway party."

Hi, Also a rookie. e are flying in from Boston and arrive at MCO around 10. Maybe we will be on the same DCL bus. We are up for a meet. Snow tomorrow,CANT WAIT any longer.

We just might be on the same DCL bus, since we are arriving near the same time. I don't know how often the buses run from the airport to the port terminal. We are flying in from Atlantic City on Spirit Airlines. We are scheduled to arrive in MCO at 9:18 that Saturday morning.

I've had my fill of this cold winter weather, I need some warmth. More snow expected overnight and not looking forward to it one bit.

Looking forward to meeting some fellow DIS'ers on our cruise.

Incase you were wondering, I have changed my user name from "apwalters55" to "Verandah Man" so it matches my webpage address below. If you would like to know how the name "Verandah Man" came about, the explanation is on the home page, of my website.

It was kind of funny how this all came about, it was one of those, "You had to be there, things!" I had my DW in stitches as I danced around our living room saying, "I got my verandah, I got my vernadah!!!" From then on, my DW started calling me "Verandah Man."

I should have done this from the very start, but I didn't get my webpage started until after I signed on with the DISboards, and when I was questioned about a name for my website the first thing that popped in my head was "Verandah Man."
