I am quickly getting to the point that I dislike threads where people ask honest questions about other's experiences and opinions of hotels.
It seems like people feel so strongly about their opinions they don't want other people to give theirs or they shoot it down like it was a stupid opinion.

NEWS FLASH everyone's opinion is valid! The OPs of these threads really want to hear from different people and different opinions. That's why they ask.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me. Probably most people will not. That's why there are so many hotels around DL.

Long story short- Don't get bent out of shape when someone doesn't have a good review about the hotel you love. Maybe their experience was totally different than yours. Don't expect everyone to agree with you on how much to spend. Everyone's budget is different. Let everyone give their opinions without saying how wrong they are. If the OPs want a debate then that's another thing, but if they want opinions they should be able to get everyone's without having to deal with rude comments and fighting.

Well, I think you're wrong. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Actually, I completely understand what you're talking about. We all have different priorities, different families and different budgets. The hotel threads ask for opinions, a couple of people respond, then the next 10 post or so are about how the first few responses are wrong. Um, no, they gave their opinion, it is right, for them.

Haha.... exactly. No opinion is wrong. That's what makes it an opinion.

I hope this isn't about me saying WOW to your cost at staying at the hotel. It just shocked me that it was that expensive and I meant no disrespect towards you or your opinion, it was just a sticker shock kind of thing.

I try to respect everyones opinions.

Haha. No. I'm ok with that.
It's more towards the people that say things like "That's just stupid" or saying that people don't know what they are talking about.
Unless you were with them on their vacation, you can't possibly know if they are wrong.

I had another thought on this.

I am never surprised by someone not agreeing with how much I spend on vacationing. My own Mother tells me we are "Hotel Snobs". BUT that is coming from a woman that thought her children would enjoy being crammed into the back of a station wagon and driving from Ca to Ok to visit relatives in the July heat every Summer. Oh yeah- and we always did the motel 6. :(

Ummmmm, would 3 kids in the backseat and me and my wife in the front seat of a Lumina going from Iowa to California in 2 days and staying at Super 8 or equivelant be the same thing?

If it is then thats us. :thumbsup2:rotfl2: But at least we had air conditioning. :thumbsup2 We couldnt afford to fly 5 people to California. Now its just the wife and I so we fly, but that is still very expensive for us.

I dont disagree with how much you spend on a hotel, I have no problem with what anyone spends on their vacations. If you have the money and thats what you want to do then go for it. I don't have that kind of money and if I want to go on a vacation I have to save and scrimp every penny to get to go on that vacation. So we have to save money by staying at the Super 8 on Katella instead of staying at one of the more expensive motels. I figured Disneyland Hotels were high, but I had no idea it was that high and it shocked me to see that price tag on a room.

And oh ya...... This is Tom Bodet and we will leave the light on for ya! :rotfl:

Okay this might make you feel better- my dh is now 44 and he still complains about the summer they drove the I think Pinto (see how I have learned to tune out the story after 20 years ;) ) with the hump in between the two back seats all the way from California to Ohio- and of course because he was the youngest he sat in the middle.... maybe that is why he insists on a big enough vehicle for everyone to have a little elbow room? lol!

OMG!!!! You have me laughing out loud at work!!!!
A Lumina with 4 people I'm sure is much better than a station wagon with 7. ;)

It was 5 so someone had the hump in the backseat, and you would have to ask my kids which was better, I had my seat so I was fine. My kids hated it until they got to Disneyland, then about a day before we were ready to head back the dread started up again.

Are we there yet!!!!!

At least you were headed to Disneyland. I grew up in Ca and vacationed in Oklahoma! :(
