if you have any of the nasty virus's going around. That's what the ER staff told us to do

... actually hubby did it as I have been just too exhausted to do anything but dis ::yes:: He used the clorox wipes in the pop up container.

According to all the MD's, nurses & ER staff we have seen, these virus's are highly contagious!

Probably a good idea too if you've had company for Thanksgiving.

Sure don't want any of our fellow dis'sers to go through what we've been through the last week.

LOL, I tore my house apart today cleaning, trying to get rid of it. I wonder how long it lives on stuff.

We changed all our sheets, got all the lightswitches, doorknobs, remote control.

I missed the phones though! Thanks!

Oh, wow, just realized.....the KEYBOARD. I glossed right over that part of your post. I have been here sneezing all over it. (gross!)

Okay, another deep cleaning day tomorrow!

Thanks!!!

I work at a power plant that has ALOT of workers!!

I have been disinfecting the intercom recievers and elevator buttons!! lol

Good advice. My sister in law and her family showed up at my house on Friday morning with two sick children who proceeded to spike high fevers and throw up all weekend. I have torn off all bedding and opened every window in my house. Probably won't help much. Nedless to say, I am less than thrilled.

Don't forget to disinfect the toilet handle, faucet knobs and if you have been sick, throw out your toothbrush and replace with a new one.

Great tips!! never would have thought of the toothbrush!

MD's suggest pushing fluids ... non alcholic of course to help fight off the germs coming to visit you.

not that I am aware of.

These the the disinfectant wipes in the pop up containers. I have used them to wipe some of the girls toys that can't be washed. I didn't notice any color change.

I take a container every time I got on vacation and always do a wipedown of things that I will be touching. Doesn't take much efffort and it just makes me feel better doing it. :D

dont forget those toys!!!

That was the one thing I had been forgetting. What can be bleached goes in the tub with HOT HOT HOT water and bleach and soaks!!

What cant, gets washed in the washing machine, dishwasher, or blasted with Lysol.

dont forget your handle to the fridge and freezer door too . Go around with a can of Lysol in your hand and do your normal thing, notice everything you and your family touch on a daily basis, you will be amazed! Door jams, drawer pulls, cupboard doors, and swab the telephone receiver with alchohol.

I ended up doing the some of the walls too just to be on the safe side lol.

I went through 4 CANS of Lysol with this last bug. it really does help!

Hope everyone is feeling better really soon!

this has to be one the nastiest bugs weve ever had!

Don't go overboard. The more sterile you keep things the less your body will build antibodies to the germs. Reasonable cleaning of the sick room and things use by the sick person is good. Obsessing about every little thing doesn't really help at all and can be counterproductive.

Getting over flu and now quite exhausted after reading these posts.
Going to bed now.
Will be in touch when I have regained enough energy to disinfect my house from top to bottom.
Don't hold your breath ...
