DH asked me to ask. How often do you run your dishwasher? He said some people run after every meal. I think it should be run when it's 3/4's full. Seems to be it's running too often.

We (Mom, Dad, and myself) do a load every night, or every other night before we go to bed. We usually wait till it is at least 3/4 full before we do a load.

I do a load every night. Sometimes I run a load in the middle of the day, too. With 4 boys, my dishwasher is full most of the time.

There are 4 of us here and we run it every other day....but only when it's completely full!:)

No. Unless there is something in there I really need to prepare the next meal. LOL!

There is only dh and me and I only run it when it's at least 3/4 full. Sometimes that's every other day, sometimes it's longer. Rarely do I run it two days in a row.

How often?
When it is full (either glasses or dishes) or at the end of the evening. I normally run it 2x's a day.

Would I run it if it was 1/2 full? Depends on what is in it. I need a clean coffee pot in the morning, so I wouldn't care how full it is. But it is almost always full of glasses, anyway.

Whenever it's full. I hand wash my pots and pans and things non dishwasher safe every time I cook or dirty something up. So, the dishwasher is only run every other day or so.

Seeing I eat OUT a lot, about once a week. :o When the kids were home, it SHOULD have run twice a day, but it was on everyday. Light bill went WAY down after they left! ;)

When I can't cram anything else in. That's usually every other day. 1/4 of the load is usually the cat food bowls. Aside from the cats, its only the 2 of us and we only wash glasses, dishes, and silverware. I hand-wash all of my pots and pans.

I only run when it's totally full... being only two of us, we don't dirty up too many dishes quickly (unless DH is cooking - he uses a lot of dishes).

There’s a big joke about this in my family. (‘What, you’re not running the dishwasher again!’) One of my sisters doesn’t have one, the second has one but hardly ever uses it (guess she just likes to do them by hand), and my third sister runs hers about twice a day. My sisters all have husbands and children, but I don’t. So, I usually only need to do mine once a week, unless I run out of something (usually spoons).

I only run mine if it's at least mostly full. Sometimes the top is totally full but the bottom isn't, or vice versa, and I'll run it then, but I don't run it just because it's a certain time of the day. I handwash big things, like pots and pans, so it takes a while for ours to fill up.

With just dw and me and precious little cooking being done:D just once or twice a week.

Only if we are entertaining...there's just 3 of us and we usually take turns handwashing the dishes. I probably run the dishwasher 6 times a year or so.
