Dishwasher repair?

Anyone ever have to have their dishwasher repaired. Mine quit about 3 months ago and I can't take it anymore. I think the timer/cycle thing needs to be replaced. How much does that usually cost? I just dread all of those Thanksgiving dishes

Depending on how old it is, and what is wrong with it, sometimes you're better off just buying a new one.

If it is more than 5 years old I would buy a new one, but if it is something small and not too expensive I would replace the part. My husband does all the work himself on everything but we usually use the website www.repairclinic.com to see what and how much it will be.

Send me the brand, model number and describe the problem via PM. Could be as simple as ordering a part that your DH can replace. If this isn't simple, then may look for a great deal at Home Depot or Lowes. A lot of times you can find great deals on clearance at Lowes or Home Depot. Home Depot was slashing prices on old units to let the new ones in.

We just replaced ours, after spending $200+ for parts and repair, it died after 2 weeks. It was over 10 years old, we should've bite the bullet and replace it, but it was a hard month financially so we took a chance and tried repairing first but ended up spending more money!!!

I will be replacing my 9yo dishwasher w/a new one when it comes in- ordered it on Monday when my old one started making a funny clicking sound. Didn't even enter our minds to try to repair it. We didn't want to take any chances and it wasn't washing very well anyway. The new one will be in by Monday.
