Dish Network questions

Not sure if this is the place to pose these questions, but you all usually lead me in the right direction!!

I have been a Dish Network member for about 4 years now. I am tired of getting the junk mail that offers me up to 4 rooms, Tivo, etc. I would love to upgrade but all of these offers are for NEW members only. DH called to see if we could upgrade, but it would cost us some money. (He just told me it wasn't that much.....it is the principle of the matter!!!

My questions are : how does one become a new member? Are there any ways to bypass loyal customer costs that are provided FREE to NEW members?

Direct TV sounds better and better each day. Besides, I am a NFL football freak and wouldn't mind Direct's NFL station!!!!

Any assistance would be appreciated.

we have Dish also and to get all the stations we were entitled to because we did not have the upgraded stat they wanted $25 to install it and a 1 yr committment NO WAY! I just downgraded our service!

I do not think there is a way around it, they do not reward loyal subscribers!

We are thinking of changing to Direct TV had them when they first came out and I actually like their system better. We have been with Dish for over 6 years now.

I actually think it is a good idea to change every 5 years or so just to get the upgrade systems.

Have you ever had Direct?
