That makes me absolutely sick. I work with deaf people on a daily basis, and it's scary how easily things like this can happen (although not always to quite this degree.. ) because of something stupid like a misunderstanding or lack of way to communicate.

When my son was looking for summer jobs, I looked at the Six Flags website. The security guards made a bit more per hour than the ride operators, etc. The only qualification appears to be that the applicant be 18.

I know that come cops moonlight as security guards but I also know that others are pretty much untrained and certainly are not the cream of the crop.

While it does seem a bit excessive, as the guy being choked out does seem to be tapping him in an effort for him to release him a bit, I do not know what went on prior to these events. The guy on the ground could have taken a swing at the security guard.

Trying to avoid seeing security guards here in the stereotypical way, and taking all of my power to do so. I was a teenager not so long ago, accused of shoplifting when I had not, and they detained and interrogated me without proper proof. I hope that this wasn't the case here, but my gut tells me otherwise.

OMG

I can't believe the security team did this, there are points in the video where you can clearly tell the guy is choking. I also work with deaf americans, I've been taking 4 years of sign language classes, in those classes we work and learn stories from other deaf americans. And incidents like this are extremely scary. And the way that security guard handled it was completely uncalled for.

The video really got my blood boiling! What makes me even more angry is that you could tell on kid was trying to tell them his friend was deaf. Yet it looked like only one person tried to come to their aid. God help the security guard if I ever see them doing something like this in a mall. Everyone of those guards should have been arrested.
