giving props to people that are "good friends with ...." is really hard to do, but i absolutely love when guests draw picture or write notes to their favorite people and ask the attendents to give it to so and so when they go to get hunny, find her prince, get some peanuts, etc....
i know when my father and sister came down in july, they made sure that i was working on one of their vacation days just so they could see me wear my pretty blue dress and glass slippers and get a picture with me- and honestly it is one of the greatest things in the world to see your family waiting in line to visit and have pictures taken with you in costume (i almost cried and my father did have tears cause he was seeing his daughter living her dream to be a princess)

I think that you, or one of the other lovely Princesses working in the Castle was responsible for adding to the most magical vacation for my family last January. My DGD was 4, and was dressed in her pretty blue gown, meeting her royal friends for the first time. She was enchanted by Cindy and wanted her "Pa" to have his pic taken also. Shy guy that he was, he said no, and Cindy was not having any of that! She led the gathering to clap when my little Princess dragged her Pa over. Somehow, the royal lady remembered Kady after lunch, left the line to give her another kiss, and then singled her out during the parade.

I don't know how you and your collegues manage to spread so much magic and make so many memories, but I can tell you that your Dad has much to be proud of. You and so many others like you make dreams come true for people, young and old, each day. Yesterday, Kady and I were looking at the pictures of that magical day and her eyes were as bright as the moment when she met Cinderella, and the rest of the royal entourage on that special Tuesday. Everyone of the ladies involved gave her a gift that we could not have bought, because it is impossible to purchase kindness, compassion and joy.

I am a HUGE Disney fanatic. I love working at Disney, and I love being able to go into the parks anytime I am able to. Sometimes I just decide to go in for the evening shows. But anyway, I also love the message boards. They are great.

Joanna, I love to see your posts because each one gives a tiny bit of insight into what happens "behind the scenes" without letting the magic fall by the wayside. I appreciate it when thos DIS'er who are CM's share a little of their knowledge. The balancing act of providing information without stripping away the veil must be difficult. Thank you once again.

I was a CP (College Program student) from January-May '06. I worked at Splash Mountain. Being a college intern you aren't paid too much, $6.40/hr, but anything after 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week is time and a half and if you have less than 8 hours between a shift it's double time which always was awesome. Tiring, but you got paid $12.80/hour which no one complained about.

Disney doesn't pay too much. In fact, there was a bilboard on 4 from Universal that bluntly stated "We pay more than the other" or something like that. Ouch. Also, one of my coordinators from Frontierland actually left because she couldn't move up in rank and Universal offered her a management position right away.

Now, while I'd much rather work for Disney, money is money. And unfortunately, Disney isn't a high paying job. Fun, magical, and to be frank miserable all at the same time, is better than Universal could ever be. Trust me, no matter how bad the day was, no matter how many times I got asked where the FP machines where when they are right behind me, seeing that Castle and watching Wishes at the end of almost every shift made it all better.

So much better that I'm even going down this summer as a CP Alumni. YES!

I do firmly believe that the CM's are those who make Disney what it is, magical, and carry on Walt's dreams. And so many of them just for the love of it all.
