DISers who are CMs?

I have noticed that several people on here are/were employed by Disney. Every time we go to WDW, watch a video, look at pictures we always agree that working for Disney would be a dream job. So, let me live vicariously. :goodvibes Who out there works for Disney and what do you do?

Also, I would like to add...

Is it hard to get hired at a Disney theme park? Is the pay good? What do they start you out at($$$)?

Not me, but a lifelong friend of mine has been a CM for a decade. The pay is very low, but they have great benefits. And when I mentioned disboards.com, she looked very sad and said that complaint posts from here are copy-and-pasted and emailed to the appropriate people/department.......

That's sad. Well really, I guess it means that they are "listening" - and that is good, but I hope that they listen to the great posts too. I haven't posted a complaint from my recent trip (dont have any), but several wonderful things that I experienced from CM's. If they listen and take action on the complaints (and people are more likely to post little unhappy things than the big good things), then they should do the same with the praises.

I still don't know who helped me the day of check-out when I accidently whacked my son with the handle of the suitcase (it fell backwards when I let go of it, and hit him in the the mouth). I was so frazzled after that happened that I didn't think to check his nametag. I am going to send an email to the resort and hope that the praise finds it's way to

come on guys and girls, there must be some out there, or are you not allowed to say?

FAO any CM, if we have a praise, where do we send it to, so that you get maximum praise, thanks and recogonition ( sp?) for your actions please.

I think we should sprinkle pixie dust the other way too, not just for the guests.

During my lurking days, I noticed that a lot of the CMs post on the college board b/c they are doing a college program in working at WDW. I'd love to hear their responses...

i might as well come out and say hi (although some of you know already that i'm a cast member of several years)- what i do i can't really say (lets just say that i usually have a big head, furry hands and feet and cannot talk; i wear a big, pretty dress that sparkles or i go skipping down mainstreet at the current hard ticketed event - you know the one everyone goes dressed up in costumes and gets candy)
i absolutely love my job and that's what keeps me here. i do not make much and i put up with people everyday thinking that it's funny to knock my head (which really hurts), but it's the greatful people who love me that keeps me here (and i love when the little kids aren't afrade of me)

Great thread though it sounds like CMs aren't allowed to say much! Do any CMs ever notice DIS members ... the whole Lime Green Mickey thing. It seems like DISers don't seem to find other DISers so I was just wondering.

That is those of you in a talking kind of job vs being a character helper. :teeth:

Thank you for making so much magic for us! I'm sure my children have probably given you a hug before! Definitely no head knocking from us - only much respect & awe! :goodvibes

thank you! that is really what makes it worth working down here when we know that people really love seeing us- we really cannot say too much and most cms are too afrade to speak out on this board (cause we don't want to be misquoted and have people try to get us in trouble to try and get something free out of it) but we really do look at the boards (a whole lot)

There's a few of us CMs on here. I think a lot of us will agree that we work at WDW because we love making people smile. Me, I'm also a "disney dork" ... I'm in the parks on my days off, i've seen every fireworks show often enough to have them completely memorized, and don't care, still try and go see at least one a week.

It gives me warm fuzzies to know that there are truly CM's that are Disney Geeks and that it's not just a paycheck. Iv'e always felt it when there but to hear it straight from some of you means a great deal. We appreciate all the hard work you guys and gals do to make our visits magical. :wizard: Thank you. :cheer2:

To all the CM's that may read this thread, THANK YOU. You guys ARE the Disney Magic. Myself sitting here in Philadelphia soo excited because in three weeks when my DW and I arrive with our 2 1/2 yrold DD, it will be YOU that makes her eyes light up and turn to me and say " Daddy I love Mickey Mouse" and melt my heart. For that I thank you.

Wow when I started this thread, I didn't realize working at Disney was such a secret!

I'd like to thank the CMs on here also for doing what you do. I am proud to say that my children were never "head knockers". If they ever did anything, it was hug too much.

I have an idea for my next trip and want feedback if people think it is too much. We went Christmas 2004 and I wanted to thank everyone I saw for giving up their Christmas so my family could be at the MK. I know, they get paid but it was Christmas!! We are going again this year. Would it be too much if I had a card or a gift certificate or something? (Don't get too excited I was thinking McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts or something)

Thanks for any input
Becky

To all the CM's. Fortunately for us we have never had 1 complaint. I always write a praise letter to WDW when we return and try to give names. We have had the most magical times when we have gone. We are on our way again on Saturday, and we will be at that special event and we have never knocked heads, just great big hugs here. My granddaughter loves all of you, except she is a little afraid of the Villians. She is 5. Thanks for all you do and we really do appreciate it. It is sad that the few negative reviews get noticed more than the positives. I am sure there would be more positives than negatives if all of us DISers would remember to let Disney know about them. :goodvibes

Again my heart felt thanks. pixiedust:

Actually a few years ago, I was in a scooter due to a hyerniated disk in my back. We were getting off at the Boardwalk and there was a CM getting ready to go out on the Illuminations cruise and he saw the lime green ribbon I had on the basket of the scooter and said Hi Dis Board Member. He was in a hurry so I didn't find out who he was... but he knew I was a boardie, lol.

I know of a few CM who are on these boards and think it is pretty neat!

I am a HUGE Disney fanatic. I love working at Disney, and I love being able to go into the parks anytime I am able to. Sometimes I just decide to go in for the evening shows. But anyway, I also love the message boards. They are great.
