Howdy, Tripp!

Just wanted to say I'm happy to make your acquaintance, and I love your Lost blog. I'm pullin' for Locke, and always have been! Respect the island!

Too bad the CMO gig doesn't appear to involve any cross-promotional activities for ABC. (And who wouldn't want a guest spot with Tom Bergeron on AFV?!)

I would totally love to hang with Tom Bergeron! Maybe some of the Dancing With The Stars crew too! A few weeks ago I hosted an event at a local club here and Mark Ballas and Derek Hough performed as "Almost Amy." I thought they sounded great. A lot of the dancers on the tour were there to support them. No Tom Bergeron though... Wayne Newton was supposed to show but didn't.

Nice to meet you as well. I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks for checking out my blog. Like I said before, many times I am totally way off in my theories, but I do have a great time doing it. Kenny had a great theory from two episodes ago when Sayid was searching for the "Economist." He said that he thinks that the "Economist" is Locke in the future. Perhaps he learns the secrets of the island and is able to do what Ben can do. Thanks Kenny!

Ok, Fleagle. You can come out of the corner now. We can't stay mad at you. In fact, I thought it was pretty witty/funny.
:rotfl2:

Yeah, it looks to me that Locke is slowly becoming Ben. He's taking people captive, torturing them and killing them. (Hey wait, that sounds sort of piratey, doesn't it.)pirate:

Goodness, I go away for a few days and this thread just takes off and leaves me in the dust!

I may not be a CMO finalist (anyone get a call yet for Top 10???????)...but I was the first to "Ride, Slide, and Swim" at Seaworld's new waterpark Aquatica on Sunday! (They gave everyone at the preview tee-shirts that said the ride, slide, and swim thing, I'm not bragging, really! ;) ) Soft openings for Aquatica don't even begin until next Saturday for the general public, so I'm really excited...yesterday was was passholders only by random invitation and completely unadvertised, and the lines were like 5 minutes at most. It was great..but I'm exhausted today!

I wouldn't say it's much better, just different. Not as many animals as I expected, but cleaner bathrooms and LOTS of beach chairs and umbrellas. Different twists on traditional water rides, and most of the slides seemed to go faster than at other parks I've been to. Since it's the only water park we have annual passes to, I know we'll be back a lot this summer. After that, we'll see, may switch and get passes to one of Disney's parks next year...we haven't decided yet. I'll be doing a full, detailed review over on the Seaworld board. I'll post a link once I have it up. :)

That's cool! Is that the big "groundbreaking" announcement that SeaWorld was promoting on its site a few months ago? :confused3 (There was a countdown to a huge announcement, but I never checked back to learn what that announcement was...)

I also recently read somewhere that SeaWorld plans to incorporate Sesame Street characters in parts of the Park -- with a special show and occasional appearances. :thumbsup2 (SeaWorld, Sesame Place and Busch Gardens are all under the same ownership.)

Okay, it's always nice to substantiate my outrageous claims with an actual source: ;)

And, here's a little "blurb" from our friend Brady's blog (about SeaWorld San Diego):

I might add that it looks like this is older(er) news -- from last year!

Now that somebody else won the lottery, we need another way to have a little distraction while we wait. (at least I do)

So, distinguished members of the DIScademy... please visit:

Hey, this is a GREAT idea and I can't wait to play on Saturday!

I'll try to think of some more "award categories" for both videos and posts! This sounds like we can have a LOT of fun with it until V-day (voting day).

Oh, and love the name: DIScademy Awards!

We will need a category for Best Sideways Video as several of them were filmed with the camera turned sideways.

Yes! Yes! Yes! When I first saw them I was going, what the?

and also a category for Best Head Cut Off -- there were several that had the head cut off or barely on the screen.

Thanks!

One of the things we will need is some members of the DIScademy. I think in the interest of simplicity, everyone should take a category to nominate. For example... Marshay could take Best Actor. She would then search the videos (or her memory of them) and post a list of nominees.

After a commentary period, she would choose a winner and email the name to me (Price, Waterhouse & Fleagle) On Saturday night, we'll "open the envelope" Winners can even give an acceptance speech if they like.

If you have a category you would like to include, let me know!!!

NOTE: This is just for fun! I hope we won't take it super-seriously!

Funny! By the way, congratulations Kenny! You may have noticed on the site that you will be receiving a DIScademy Lifetime Disney Contest Achievement Award.

Maybe we can combine sideways camera and head cut off into something like Most Creative Camera Use. Want to keep things positive!

Keep thinking of good stuff... a ton of work today, so I'll check back when I can.

Here's Kevin Yee's review over on miceage. It didn't turn out anything like the concept art.

http://www.miceage.com/kevinyee/ky022508a.htm

I think in time it will be more like the concept art than it is now. The trees are still young, and hence not as lush, but overall I think it has more flora and fauna that most waterparks around the country (at least the ones I've been to!). The dolphin slide was definitely a disappointment, but overall I really liked the park. I'd agree with Mrs. Yee and give it an A-.
