So that's how you get almost 20,000 posts in a little over a year! ;)

Since it's almost lottery time, I've been thinking a lot about a family that would get to go to Disney World that could never go otherwise and was wondering if any of you guys know much about Disney Hand? Or have ever known anyone that worked there?

I think that would be an awesome job!

The Gutter Chicks is a DIS club started by the All-Famous, or should I say InFamous TrentMom and her gals! Think of the movie Grease and I think you'll get the idea ("pink ladies"). TrentMom bestowed a nickname on most of us!

I love it! I have yet to read TrentMom's threads/reports, but I can already tell that you ladies have a lot of fun! :goodvibes

Yeah, I started out with a HUGE thread, but that eventually fizzled. We would talk every night and just have a great time.

But like I said that fizzled and now have found more people to hang with, that are more my style.:grouphug: We all have pre trips and follow each other from thread to thread, so much fun:goodvibes

let the good times roll

Yes, I love to chat, that is why I have so many posts:lmao:

OK, I have NO CLUE if I'll make it to the top ten, let alone the top 3, but in the interest of planning ahead, I'd like to ask a question to anyone that might know or have a good thought on the following:

The top 3 winners get to fly to Disney World with 3 family members/friends (for a total of 4 people per finalist, obviously). In my case, I've got a wife and 3 kids, making 5 people. Do you think Disney would allow me to bring my 2-year old along (at our own expense, of course) either by buying a ticket through Disney or by giving us the flight info so we can buy our own ticket?

It would sure be sad to have to leave him with relatives for the week, and we'd much rather bring him if possible.

Anyway, any thoughts?

Hey Andy, I remember reading reports from last year, and several took more people than just the other 3 allowed. I think Kenny did too, so you might ask him how he did it.

I don't think it will be a problem at all!

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't pose problem. (It's just that Disney had to set a cap at some point. KWIM?)

From what I read about the Mom's Panel, at least one mother brought her daughter (and her mother?) along during the Panelists' training trip. (Of course, the tag-along family members busied themselves with other activities during the formal training sessions, I'm sure. There's some video footage of mother and daughter watching the MVMCP parade together, though.)

For this contest (and the Top 3 "show-down"), I'm thinking that the friends & family (:cheer2: "morale boosters" :cheer2: ) would be a big part of the excitement. They sort of lend themselves to the whole "reality-show-style" aspect of the contest. I'd say bring him, for sure! He could be your little "mascot"! :)

Hey Andy,
Yes I have 3 kids and THE SPONSOR was gracious enough to grant us the ability to take all the kids at no extra cost to us. They comped the plane ticket and even provided enough park passes. They would have allowed us to bring her to the Finding Nemo party, but we knew she wouldn't enjoy that as much, so she went to Fantasyland with some dear friends.

:rotfl2: 'Still at it, I see! I take it you haven't broken "the sponsors," yet! :rotfl2:

The lottery website changed the winning numbers, but not the date... so I THINK the numbers are:

7 12 13 19 22 MB 10

Conversation has dwindled a bit, so here's a bit for discussion. I entered an essay contest open to parents of small children last summer with hasbro. I placed 3rd and got a $100 gift certificate. Had to be 250 words or less.

Here's what they were looking for:
The essay must be 250 words or less. (Mine is exactly 250) The essay submission must contain the following elements: a description of how a family vacation to the (FLORIDA) ® Resort would likely spark a child’s imaginative play (35%); a description of how the child will likely benefit from this experience (35%); and display a knowledge of the components of (SPONSOR'S) Magical Beginnings program (30%)

Here was my entry...
"As we enter the land of magic and dreams one hour earlier than most guests, we are greeted with all the enchantment that is D.....(INSERT SPONSOR HERE :-). My daughter plays with none other than the cunning Peter Pan and charming Wendy. She soars through the air atop a flying elephant with the mischievous Stitch, and rides with Cinderella upon a magical horse to a child’s fantasyland.
We share a delectable breakfast including Mickey shaped waffles in a place that takes us to the golden age of Hollywood, while she learns to tame a lion with the help of the world’s best circus clown. Through the eyes of a lovely princess we learn to see something beautiful in everyone, even the most hideous beast.
My little one and I will learn to “Catch that train,” “Get on the bus,” or choose the “right tool” as we sing, dance and maybe even get the Wiggles out at a great live Disney event geared just for her.
And what child wouldn’t dream of trick or treating dressed as Minnie? She and I will actually do this WITH Minnie Mouse.
As we end our marvelous day in the land of fairy-tales we dream in the awe-inspiring royal bedchamber that was designed for Cinderella to overlook her fantasy kingdom. From her window she sees Walt’s goodnight kiss celebrating her coronation as a true princess.
When we leave she’s not sad, she knows she’ll carry the magic with her forever. It’s an enchanting journey to begin a lifetime!"
