DIS'er Marlasmom passed away

Earlier today I was going back and forth a bit in email with a person who is a past DIS'er . During the exchange, she asked me if I had heard that DIS'er Marlasmom had recently passed away. I told her I had not. She said she had read the news on another board on the Net and knew I probably knew of her.

Those who have been around the DIS boards a long time probably will remember Marlasmom. I do not think she was around much recently, but then there are many like that who have drifted off.

Though I never really had any personal interaction with Marlasmom (not sure what her real name is) I was sorry to hear of her passing, thought I would share it here though. God speed.

Thanks for posting this, Dan. I spoke on the phone with Marlasmom several times a few years back. Sadly, something always came up with one of us and our plans to meet for lunch were never carried out.

I will say this...she was *very compassionate* where children were concerned. She did volunteer work helping little ones who came from troubled backgrounds, and in talking with me about it, she'd often become very emotional. She had a good heart.

I remember some of her posts, in particular one about a child abuser - I recall nodding in agreement as I read through her opinions on what punishment the abuser should get. She seemed like a wonderful woman.

Oh dear, I am so sorry to hear about Marlasmom passing . Thx for letting us know Dan. I remember her well, always lovingly speaking of her DGC's visits, vacations and holiday excitement. I remember her posts when her daughter became very ill due to complications from surgery. She was so worried about her. She was a guardian ad litem for children.
