I have a vacation question for you girls. My DH and I are planning on going on a kidless vacation this Sept/Oct. Unfortunately my money tree has not begun to bloom so I need to make it on a shoestring budget. I found a deal for 7 nights to Puerto Vallarta in a nice hotel for a great price. But for only a few hundred more I can get a trip to Oahu for 5 nights. We've never been to either place (we've been to Kauai and Maui not Oahu) so I'm just looking for what you girls would pick.

Mexico or Hawaii??

Can I get a branch from your money tree when it starts to bloom? :rotfl:

I would say Mexico. Everything will be less expensive in Mexico than in Hawaii. Puerta Vallarta is very nice. You will have a great time there! You get beach and history all in one.

Kim I love your trip report! I feel like I'm there. Great pictures too!

Hmmm...you're in CA, I'd go for Hawaii. :) But whatever fits your budget! :thumbsup2

Just stopping by to say hi! We had a hectic day today just running around. The kids had a half day and we went to lunch at Red Robin. Then I had to make apple pies to go to school tomorrow for Patriotic Day. Noah's at baseball now and I'm making dinner.

We're actually ATTEMPTING to make plans to go camping this weekend. I'm not sure if my head is screwed on straight. Last time I was awake ALL NIGHT because I felt so cold I had to pee the whole night. It was not pleasant. The rest of the time was wonderful, totally relaxing. Fishing, reading, making Smores and other yummy things for breakfast and dinner.

I'm undecided though because the weather has been VERY predictable. The good thing is you park your vehicle right on your campsite so if the weather happened to become and issue, the kids and I could sleep in the back of the van. It's plenty big! :thumbsup2 Who knows!

Kim - I love hearing all the stories. It made me sad though to hear about Jon hanging his head and looking uncomfortable. Poor guy. I think sometimes it's just a little much for him. :guilty: I did see some videos and such that people made and he looked like he was having a great time. I hope he had fun!!

I vote for Hawaii....I love it! Besides, there are too many crazy things going on in Mexico right now.

Actually in Mexico's defense the problems they are having are limited to a few areas. The drug cartel issues are in the border towns. And most cases of flu come from the interior, mostly Mexico City. I'd go to Mexico tomorrow and not give it a second thought. I love Mexico and feel bad for the folks there in the tourist areas. They have been dealt a 1-2 punch by the US media. They've got a tough road ahead of them.

(wanted to add I in no way feel for the gov't of MX, just the working folk in the service industry.)

Anyway, JMO.:cool2:

I was going to post the same thoughts but you beat me to it!

I watched it at 7pm. I thought the hardest part would be the weekend while the cruise was going on. But nope. It's seeing how utterly fantastic it was and knowing I missed the whole entire thing. I know there is 2010 but it'll never be the same as the 1st one, ya know?

That's so cool about the star! I'm going to donate.

So, for those of you that saw the E! News thing. Towards the end they interviewed an older woman who had a sailor's hat on. They asked her how many of their concerts she has been to on this tour and she said 20 or something like that.

She was in Atlantic City for both concerts we went to, plus I saw her in the ILAA pics from Texas too! (a friend of mine went to that one) GEEZ LOUISE!!! She was chatting up with Zach and getting backstage passes. We joked around with her asking if we could pretend to be related to her.

Kim, I'm loving your TR! I love that Jon had everybody sing Happy Birthday to Jordan and the pic of you and Joey...:faint: Lucky!

26! Honestly, I can't even imagine seeing the same concert that many times. She can probably get on stage and do the whole show with them!

Good morning friends!! Carson and I have been busy already. He had speech at 8 this morning, we were home by 9 and working in the yard. We planted hostas, put down mulch, found out that 2 bags were NOT enough. LOL Now we are inside he is watching Blues Clues and I'm relaxing. Naptime is next. :) This afternoon we'll be raking the grass out of our newly tilled garden and maybe starting to plant, if not we'll be planting tomorrow. I don't know WHAT I was thinking when I decided to plant stuff this year. I'm known for KILLING plants, not growing things. LOL

Too funny! Blue's Clue's is on my TV right now too. We've already been outside playing and now Mommy needs a short break.

I've killed several philodendrons which my family all claim are nearly impossible to kill. LOL I'm determined to do well with my garden though. I'm planting tomatoes (4 Beefsteak plants MY FAVE and a few others), yellow squash, green peppers and cucumbers. All of my fave summer veggies. Oh, and sunflowers to keep the birds from eating my veggies. LOL

Carson is addicted to Blues Clues!! Thank goodness we can DVR it every morning. That way he can watch a few different ones throughout the day when Mommy needs him to be occupied so I can get something done. :)
