Awww.....you guys..... I want in on the group hug too :grouphug: It's amazing how much alike we all are. I also am a SAHM with little to no social life. My DH came in to the office on Sunday while I was on the computer and "informed" me that I had spent a lot of time in here that day and shouldn't I be in the other room with my family....we had a discussion and I ended up really upset and  just because I was trying to explain to him that my only friends are online and I'm stuck in that living room 24/7 except to go to the grocery store and Dr's appointments, except when I can get online while Nicolas is napping or DH is watching him. I was trying to tell him that I love my family and was not trying to escape my life, but I just needed to connect with people. Anyway....I'm glad I'm not in this boat alone! :grouphug:

Oh I have so been there done that!! We ALL need a break now and then. You point out to dh that he gets to LEAVE his job. You do NOT! I hope he understood afterwards. That is where I'm really lucky. My dh is always saying he doesn't know how I stay home each and everyday. When the kids are sick or Faith is fussy and Alex is Ms. Attitude. And I want to pull my hair out!

Oh, he is really understanding about what it takes to stay home with a baby every day, and often tells me he doesn't know how I do it and I work harder than him, etc. And he completely takes over when he gets home from work until bedtime. So, I'm very lucky in that respect. I think he just doesn't understand how staying home has affected me socially....I like to be social and it's the one thing I miss about having a "real job".

I think we all need to put our tax return money together and buy a private jet so we can all visit each other and be social. :thumbsup2

It may take a few years of tax returns, but the hubbies shouldn't mind now, should they?

It's "super secret." Doesn't even show up in our profiles. You have to friend a member to get in. You can friend me: angey77@yahoo.com

Thanks - I will search you later, I am Gemma Rich, just so you know!

Marshmelo - as you can see from my sig pic I have two little ones and staying at home with them all day every day would drive me mad! I am lucky that when DD was 12 months old and DS was on the way we decided to run our ownb business so we both get to spend an equal (ish) amount of time at home and at work. You are lucky that your DH takes over when he gets home, I know a lot of men who think that just because they have been out at work all day they are entitled to do nothing at home when they get in at night.

Shelby - We run a Hallmark Gold Crown Store, and I am a balloon artist too so we do a lot of balloon decor for parties etc. It's good fun, and we have no staff just me and DH with a little help from MIL occasionally.

That's great! I'm glad to hear it. I think we're like twins or something. You and I have so much in common and it sounds like dh's are A LOT alike! ::yes::

I know! Since we aren't too far away from each other, we should really all get together and meet halfway for dinner or something sometime. And of course once the weather gets nice, we'll have to get the kids together for some playdates!

I love, love, love the name Gemma! It was on our list when our youngest was born! She ended up an Aubrey, but if we ever need another girl name, Gemma will be on the short list again!

We all seem to be a bit sentimental today!

I know what you are saying about the distance in friendships throughout life. Sometimes I think it would be fun to meet up with some of the old friends and do a girls' night out, but then I think about all the idiot guys hitting on us, breathing in smoke, having to drive home with all the drunks on the road, my clothes and hair smelling like smoke, shelling over $7 for a martini, having it spilled all over me because of drunk people running around ... it's just not appealing anymore. And since it's not, I have lost touch with some friends, ones that are not married (even though some have kids and I think they are acting irresponsible, but that's a different story).

I couldn't agree with this more! My best friend and I have drifted because I don't enjoy going out and wasting all my money on booze anymore. There are other reasons too, but that's a big one. It was fun for a couple of years but it gets old after awhile. Lucky for me though, on the rare occassion when I do go to a bar, there's no smoke! It's banned in bars & restaurants here :thumbsup2

I've been there too. Not only were we just too different but she was always questioning everything I did. She didn't like the fact that I had other friends and that was just weird. So, things ended. I haven't spoken with her in about 6 months I guess.

Why thank you, it's funny because I have NEVER heard my name in the States when we have been, it's never on anything either - so no personalised Disney mugs or anything for me. Florida is the only place that we can get stuff with Shelby's name on it too.

Are any of you going on the cruises?

You are right, it is rare here. We lived in Germany for several years and travelled to London a few times. I met someone there named Gemma and have loved it ever since!

No cruise for me! I am still having a bit of non-buyers remorse, but keep telling myself it is going to be completely chaotic and that makes me feel better!

no cruise for me either.

My kids are out of school today for an ICE day. Not a snow day, because we live in Texas and we dont get SNOW. So today might be a little interested.
