How long do they let you stay on the ship on the last day?
when is the latest breakfast served?
How late can you stay in your cabin?
Can you take your own luggage out, or does it have to be put out the night before?

We are not flying out til the next day, so not in a big hurry to get up at the crack of dawn and off the ship

Officially, they would like everyone off the ship by 9 am. Your luggage (except carry ons) are put outside the room the night before. THey will be claimed at US Customs in the port, where they are arranged by room number to make them easy to find.

Breakfast is based on your dinner seating. Late seating has late breakfast at 8 am. Not sure what time early is. ANother alternative is the buffet on deck 9. All locations have a limited menu on the last morning (not too slim, but not as much choice as other days). You are out of your cabin when you leave for breakfast....so you should be out of your cabin by 8 am with all your stuff. They won't make a big deal as long as you are out before 9, but if everyone did this, it would make a mess for the room stewards.

You can take your own luggage out, but that is a pain....just put most of it out the night before.

They ask that everyone be off by 9AM the latest...NOt quite sure on the breakfast times..Thinking 8am :confused3

It is asked that you bring your luggage(what you have left) with you to breakfast, as the stateroom attendants have LOTS to do..

YOur luggage must be outside your door by 11pm the night before, but it is not a must, you can carry with you, what you want, just rather long..

The turnaround is fairly quick, to reload the passengers, as this is why you are asked to bring your remaining luggage to breakfast.. :goodvibes

As hard as it is to say goodbye to the ship on that last day, remember that there's another shipful of excited guests waiting to board at around noon, and the crew has to get the entire ship cleaned and ready for their arrival.

Lingering is very tempting, but it does make the stateroom attendant's job that much more difficult. :boat:

I believe the main seating (6:00) for dinner has breakfast the last day at 6:30 or 6:45. AHHHHH!!!

I believe there is an option quickie buffet that you can grab as well if you don't want to do the sit-down breakfast.

If you don't want to put your suitcases out the night before, the buffet would be your best bet.

If you are planning on a sit-down breakfast, you really should set out the luggage. The main reason for this is there is simply not enough room in the restaurants to do this. Even with bringing our carry-ons that last morning, I felt like we were crammed in.

true- I just remember on our last cruise, we had a late flight out and were able to hang around on the ship for awhile, but I don't remember what time they finally told us to get off(this was Carnival).
I just don't really want to get up at the crack of dawn and spend the whole day tired, as we were hoping to go to the space center that day and maybe the beach.
Does the buffet have the same food as the dining room? Room service on the last day?
That makes alot of sense about the luggage

Can any one tell me what information needs to be on the tags for disembarkation? We have only been on the cruise once and I cannot remember what information they require. I would like to make address labels for my group to make like easier. Any help would be appreciated.

On the Magic there is just a cold buffet at Topsiders so if you want anything hot you would need to go to the dining room at your assigned time. The Wonder has been reported to have a hot buffet on the last night. IDK why there is a difference. We found this out on our first cruise when there was nothing at Topsiders that DS would eat. Thankfully, our servers got a plate of pancakes ready for me very quickly when I appeared in the dining room & asked if they could help me with the problem. :)

This DIS tip was wonderful:
If you have return address labels, take them. Stick them on and then write your stateroom number and 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc.

If you're going to make something new, put your name and address, plus the cabin #. Then all you'll have to write is 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc.
Just be sure the cabin # is not teeny-tiny print. They'll sort your luggage by cabin #.

Mecook, thank you! Anything to make life easier!

Do they strictly adhere to this?

If you want to go to the dining room, yes. The late seating people will be there at 8 and the servers need to clear & reset the table. You are allocated an hour to eat.

Actually they sort the luggage by the character tag, which is assigned based on our cabin number. Don't expect to find all of your luggage sitting together in the terminal. You might need to search the entire Mickey or Donald area for all of your bags. It's not bad though. Much better than looking at the entire ship's luggage.

We just left the Wonder last Thursday (Sigh) The debarkation breakfast for early seating was 6:45am in the same restaurant you ate the previous night and 8:00 for late seating. We did the buffet and it had hot food also. It was open from 6:30am to 8:30am. It was also very crowded with all the people and their carry on luggage so I think bringing your big luggage would not be wise. They do supply you with the tags to put on your luggage when they bring the debarkation information to your cabin. If you decide not to put your bags outside the night before "Customs require you to carry your bags off the ship personally". :thewave:

Yes, if you plan to have a hot breakfast with your regular wait staff you have to go at your assigned time. The next group will be right behind you so you can't dawdle! :rolleyes2 Don't know about the Florida cruises but on the Magic to Mexico, one of your party was required to show up at the dining room, even if you weren't going to eat there, to get "stickers" from your server which you wear to identify your debarkation group. We figured, well, we're here...might as well! And it proved to be a nice send-off. :flower:

Last week on the Magic the last breakfast seating was 9:00am at Lumiares, we had 8:30AM and no one rushed us to leave, infact they didn't make the announcement for our group (stickers) to leave until 9:15. You may keep your bags with you and carry them off but as stated above you have to take them off yourself with no assistance from the crew.

Just keep in mind that the West Coast is different due to the set up at the terminal. They don't have the sticker system at Port Canaveral.

If you have the early seating for breakfast, you could linger on the ship after your breakfast. Since there is no set time until they kick you off at 9, you could leave a bit later. But the reason they have you disembark in the manner they have set up is so that finding your luggage and going through customs won't take very long.

If you wanted to stretch your morning a little longer by not going to the sit down, you could send someone out for a tray of food from the buffet while the others are getting dressed or whatever. At least you wouldn't have to worry about dragging your carry ons to the buffet.

Hopefully the sticker system is something they will bring back to Port Canaveral. The system for getting folks off the ship is a mess......which is odd because the system they use to help you find your bags and get through customs and immigration is the best. On other cruises I've been on, you eat your breakfast, and go to your assigned public room to wait for your group's number. You disembark based on when your flight or transportation leaves.
Far better than the chaos they use now.
