Discuss new possible DAS Card for WDW info?

Just read the info about the possible new DAS card for WDW and am wondering if we are a loud to discuss it or not.

If they put that in place at WDW then I will have to cancel our Christmas trip this year and push it back to a less busy time in January. No way can my six year deal with the crowds without a GAC at Christmas.

I think you're panicking prematurely. Even the rumour isn't saying that there will be no help for those with hidden disabilities. Renaming from GAC to DAS and standardizing how it'll work isn't necessarily a bad thing. Know what to expect is in fact a good thing. Disney is not trying to make it more difficult for those with hidden disabilities. Change isn't always bad.

I don't actually know what even today's GAC can do for the crowds. Crowds between attractions and waiting for shows can't be helped even with today's GACs. If crowds are a problem then using a GAC at a non-optimal time during a busy season like Christmas really won't work for most who need a GAC due to issues with crowds (a good touring plan can really help a LOT with this though).

My 15yo can't handle crowds. We went at Christmas a couple years ago. It was the first time we used a touring plan service. We had an easier time that trip without having to use our GAC very much than we had during trips taken in some of the slowest seasons of the year heavily using a GAC.

I hope not. For some it works for others it doesn't. I've stated this before, my FIL has MS ( which is draining) sometimes we only get a 3 hour window of 'normal time'. Lucky for us with his gac we can get a good amount done before we leave. I'm ok with the picture being taken and that good stuff. But having a return time and maybe only being able to hit a few rides might not be worth it. Of course we could work on a touring style for us but, the flexibility of the gac for our 3-4 hours, makes disney so wonderful for when he goes. The gac disney has now is a big reason why we chose disney over universal (who uses the return time)

At this time, what is out there is really still just rumors.
Past threads about possible changes to GACs have done more harm than good - most of them caused more panic than they helped.
