Discovery Island

During my visits at Disney Worl I stay at the Wilderness Lodge and always notice when the sun is setting that there is always a lot of birds circling the old Discovery Island, has anyone noticed this? and know why?

I read that Disney is not maintaining this island, any information would be greatful.

I think they are vultures and they nest on the island. Maybe they used to be residents of the island when it was in operation.

Last time at Cali Grill we sat beside the window facing the island and there were swarms of them!

I've seen that blog and other's like it. I think DI insprired a lot of Lost.


I think the Disney Film Company is planning to remake "The Birds" and are raising their own animal actors.

Maybe it's where the rest of the Finding Nemo seagulls went -- the ones that didn't get jobs at Epcot or on DCL.
