We'd love to do this next year, as our trip will be a bit of a special trip as we have lot's of family celebrations during 2009 :goodvibes , but will it be ok to do in Feb, temperature wise?

You won't know until the day if its warm enough. we have been 4 Xmas' and 2 Easter's so just before Feb and just after. Mixed weather at both times of year, It can be just above freezing one day then in the 80's another day.
Personally I wouldn't do it at that time of year but to get me in a pool it has to be 80+ I hate cold weather. If it was just the dolphin swim and out then you could survive any weather but for the price you need to spend the whole day there and see everything, its a fantastic place but for me its a summer day not spring.

We did DC in Feb and the weather was great all week but I have read that the temp can drop on some days

We did it on Christmas Day last year and we were lucky apart from a shower late afternoon. It's pretty hit and miss temperature wise at that time of the year. There seems to be more hot days than cold so the odds are in your favour if you want to take the chance.

We have done DC twice in December - Christmas day 2003 and 2006. In 2003 the weather was fantastic, in 2006 the weather was overcast and cool with a massive thunder and lightening storm in the afternoon - our Christmas lunch was washed of the plate and the band played I can see clearly now the rain has gone! We were OK, we just kept out wetsuits on!

Go and enjoy the day - whatever the weather it is a great place to be.

It's so much fun that I am tempted to just say go and be damned with the weather...

...but it is an aweful lot of money to chance it. Maybe it would be better to do some of the other meet 'n greet kind of experiences at the other parks. Seaworld have numerous things on offer (beluga interaction / shark dive / dolphin nursery tour etc) that might be better if the weather is bad.

We did the swim on Feb 28th for my birthday in 06, and it was hot. 80 degrees or thereabouts. I have to say though the weather was rather mixed during our 3 week stay. It was cooler from the 15th Feb and gradually got warmer. You will have a fab time. Were just debating whether to do it again this August or not, having already done it, but the whole experience was fantastic.
