Discovery Cove Sunscreen Question

Hi Everyone, I'm new here and I haven't really seen this question before and would love some information...

On the Discovery Cove Website they note that you have to use their sunscreen and that they give you a sample and that more is available to purchase. I know I use a lot of sunscreen (I am very fair skinned), so my question is if the sample is enough for a whole day at Discovery Cove? If not, how much is their sunscreen?

They give you three sample packs of sunscreen per person, and its an spf 50 I think. They USE to have a huge container of it in the bathrooms by the showers as well.......My advice is to get the full body wetsuit so that you only have to worry about your face neck hands and feet.

Just ask for more if you need it. Not a problem.

It is a lotion that is safe for the fish so it is very important you use it and not your own. My memory is that it is a Panama Jack and works very well, just minus a few toxic ingredients.....which means it is probably better for us to use anyway.

We only got one sample packet per person when we went in May. I burn fairly easily so I opted for the wetsuit so I only need to put the sunscreen on my face and neck. One packet was enough for me all day and I didn't burn at all.

FYI, the sunscreen they give you is really thick. It's more of a paste than a lotion and takes quite an effort to get it all rubbed in.

This stuff is MAJORLY thick. It's SPF 50 - now I'm white but I use SPF 8 or 12 when I'm in Florida. It was like spreading cream cheese.

We jsut got back yesterday, there are 4 of us in my family we shared one package of sunscreen. It lasted all day. We shared another package while at SW. It is thick and a little goes a long way! It does work very well.

I have to second what Joymouse said. 4 of us went and only used 1 package with some left over. When they orient you they tell you to just use a little bit and rub it in your hands first. Listen to what they say !!! Our 4 packages lasted us through DC, SW 2 days and MK!!

We kept joking about having a "ghostly palor" from the sunscreen.

I will reemphasize it works really well, it is very water proof and a little goes a long way. I will be buying it again because it works so well.
