Does the price for Discovery Cove ever change? As of right now it is $299 pp for the time we will be there next summer. For a family of 5, that is a lot of money. Is it possible that the price may come down?

The price changes throughout the year based on attendence. During the "off season", like in January, its less expensive than "peak seasons" like spring break or summer. During the slower times, sometimes they don't offer as many days as they would at other points in the year. Unless you find a discount code or something, next year at the same time will likely be just as much if not more expensive.

It may come down, but not a whole lot. Keep in mind that that cost is all inclusive including unlimited food, beverages, snacks, your snorkel equipment, sunscreen, towels etc etc. You can reduce your costs by not doing the dolphin encounter which consists primarily of standing in the water with the dolphin and petting it with one short drag in the water by the dolphin at the end of the session.

I just posted on another thread. And, as much as 229 per person sounds; it really isn't bad when you sit down and add it all up.

229 Gets you:
Full Hot Breakfast
Full Lunch
All you can eat Snacks and drinks (including alcohol for those +21)
Locker Rental
Snorkel/Wetsuit Rental
Sunscreen
Feed Birds
Feed Stingrays
Dolphin Swim
Complimentary Entry Photo (they take your picture when you first enter the park ,and you pick it up at the end of the day)
Plus 14 Days to a park of your choice (Aquatica, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens)

Really, it's about 130 (in the off season, looks like its about 160 during the summer)for admission to Discovery Cove, and 99 for the dolphin swim, and I think 59 (I could be wrong) for the Underwater Tour with the helmet thing. So, if you didn't want to do the dolphin swim, you're paying 130. ...Compare that with how much you'd spend at SeaWorld for a day (Or really, how much you'd spend for your park ticket, parking, and food at ANY park for that matter)

Now Compare that if you Only went to SeaWorld;
$72- Admission for two days (the current deal their running, kids price, redeem your ticket before you leave, and come back for a 2nd day free)
$14- Parking
$10-Breakfast Snack
$7- Dolphin Feeding
$5- Stingray Feeding
$5- Seal/Sealion Feeding)
$10 Snack along the way
$15 Lunch

And that right there with a light breakfast, a snack and lunch. Plus some animal interactions that are included with your Discovery Cove Price....

A day at SeaWorld costs about 130 bucks right there. You're already at the same price as Discovery Cove without Dinner added in. Or without any Behind the Scenes Tours or Special Animal Interaction Tours.

Not to mention; that Discovery Cove only allows a certain amount of people a day. You're not going to be dealing with crowds, and their guest services is about 100 times better than Disney's. You're treated like royalty at Discovery Cove, I swear!

It may seem like a lot, but really; when you break it all down and figure that EVERYTHING is in included except for any photos take of you, and any souvenirs you'd like...it really is a good deal.

...but that's just my two cents...
