We are traveling on Oct.16 eastern DH,DM and ds-7. We are trying to decide which dolphin program is better. We wanted to know if any one has done both and you opinion. If you have only done one what your likes and dislike were.

Discovery Cove we did last year. It was fantastic and worth the money. The park has limited admission so it never got crowded. The snorkling was great in all the areas as well as the lazy river.

The dophin swim was fun you got to spend about 20 minutes with the dolphins which was nice but I do wish it was longer.

Lunch was included and was very good and the tickets also included seven days of Sea World access.

No real complaints about the day at all it's was a great day.

Have fun.

I too agree with ennisb, we did Discovery Cove at Christmas last year and it was wonderful, no crowds, swim with the wonderful dolphins, snorkelling, bird aviary, fabulous sunbathing areas on sand, a great lunch and the best memories ever of a perfect day.

Hope this helps.

We also did Discovery Cove last year. We loved it! Everything was great - it was our favorite day of our 10 day Orlando trip!

The only thing we would do differently would be to change the time we swam with the dolphins. We did an early morning swim and it was cold - they cool the water for the dolphins. Our DS6 was freezing and that was in June. He would have enjoyed it more later in the day. We still would go to the park early and do some of the other activities first.

Discovery Cove every time, what a wonderful place, gorgeous "beach" nice snorkel lagoon, stingray swim pool, dolphin interaction, great lunch , full day out and entrance to seaworld, you'll love it.

I have been wondering this as well - my DS (8) really wants to swim with the dolphins and I think this may be a great way to start our holiday out with!

I have been lucky enough to go to Discovery Cove twice. I love it there. It is well worth the money to me. It just doesn't get much better than that.

How long should you plan to stay at the park? Is it worth it if you can not use the sea world pass. If we do this it would be on friday before the cruise.

It is an all day deal. You check in during the morning, and then you are there until the park closes at 5:30 p.m. If i remember right Dolphin interactions begin at 9:00 a.m.

Once we used one day of the sea world pass, and the other time we got there early afternoon and stayed until park closed. I do believe even without using the seven day pass part it is still worth the money.

I'll add another vote for Discovery Cove! Fantastic, even if you can't use the Sea World pass.

Well after long consideration back and forth with myself I finally decided that we would spend Thanksgiving Day at Discovery Cove. I am not much for crowds and not a very patient person so the thought of being at one of the parks/or typhoon lagoon or Blizzard beach just didn't sit well with me so I took the plunge and made our reservation. The price difference was $215 more at Discovery Cove for the four of us. I have heard positives about both but for some reason I just can't get out of my mind that the animals are treated better at Discovery Cove. Once I get some idea like that it is very hard to change my feeling. My DS will be so excited and I am really looking forward to it to!

Discovery Cove! You plan to stay all day. The dolphin swim is legally limited to 30 minutes. You have about 10 minutes additional with the trainers before your water session with dolphins. The rest of the day, you do the coral reef, lazy river, aviary, stingray pool, etc. It is a full day.

Yes, it is well worth the money even if you can't use the SeaWorld pass. I like it better than any of the dolphin things we've done on cruises. It is the ONLY activity I've done where the customer service aspect is comparable to DCL.

another vote for Discovery Cove here .. did it in April 2002 when DD wasn't a good swimmer .. so I still "owe" her a dolphin swim .. we're doing the repo cruise in Aug 2005 and convinced her we'll do DC when we hit FL instead of paying dearly to do a swim at Curacao. :)
