Discovery Cove in March

We are considering going to Discovery Cove in midMarch, but I don't want to spend all the $$$ if it will be too cold to enjoy all the beach-y attractions. Obviously the Dolphin swim is the big draw, but what do you do the rest of the day (for which you have paid big bucks) if it is too chilly? Any suggestions? Do they give you wet suits for the dolphin event, and can you keep them for the whole day? Is the water heated?

Also (and I can look this one up) is there an age or height limit for the dophin swim? My DD9 is quite petite and isn't tall enough for the one at the Miami aquarium.

Thanks for any comments.

We have been twice in mid March. The first time we had some freak storms and it was quite cold, but that was very unexpected and the rest of that vacation it was very warm and sunny. The second time round we had beautiful hot weather with just a quick rain shower mid afternoon. The water is a constant temperature (decidedly cool in the dolphin lagoon and the coral reef, bath tub warm in the resort pool and the tropical river) and on really cool days they give you the option of a full length wetsuit (normally the choice is a vest or a shorty wetsuit).
Kids are allowed to do the dolphin swim once they have reached their 6th birthday.

We were there in early March two years ago and LOVED Discovery Cove. The day we were there is was in the high 70s and sunny. As dolphingirl47 said, the water in the lagoon area where you do the dolphin swim and in the coral reef is a bit cool, but we wore the shorty wetsuits and were fine. We switched to vests for snorkelling in the tropical river and swimming the resort pool. There are a couple of locations where they have the wetsuits and vests when you want to switch. If you are feeling waterlogged and want to do something else for awhile there is a lovely aviary where you can observe and feed the many birds - our daughters saw a couple of baby deer too. We spent quite a bit of time in there. Discovery Cove is a beautiful place and we had an amazing day - we would highly recommend it. Our family is planning to go back on a future trip.

We went to DC December 21st - luckily the weather was warm & we all had a great day.

If the weather had been cool, I don't think I would want to pay the $$ - but we took a chance and got lucky:) We might not get to go again so I'm glad we did.

Thanks - your comments are really helpful. I really want to do it - wish they'd have a bad economy discount!
