We're hoping to go 1/4 or 1/5 (my mom and I). We've held off booking because it would be nice if they offered some sort of discount (book early and save, etc). So I checked the site last night and noticed that nothing is available for 1/7-1/13 which seems odd to me, so today I called to see if it was closed for some reason. The girl told me it was booked. Call me skeptical, but I find it difficult to believe that DC is booked in January as far out as July... Has anyone run into this before?

Talked it over with my mom and she wants to hold off booking to see if there is any sort of discount offered. She did agree that if any other day closes on their site that we'd book. We're going from 1/2-1/18, so we could always switch legs of our trip if we had to (do SW/DC last instead of first). Advice? Should I push my mom to book DC now? We're splitting the cost; I don't really to just book it on my own/pay for the whole thing especially since I'm planning to book a few tours at SW as a surprise...

Thanks:)

that's odd... we went to DC last Jan (Jan 6th 2007)... and my sis booked in July also and the woman on the phoned said that it was a slow time and she did not need to book so early in advance... but since we had her on the phone we went ahead and booked. Our final paiement was due 1 month before our date... and I think we were charge 20% on our credit card when we booked in July... From the site we also noticed that everything was booked, but when we called they said that was because the dates were not open yet. That was sometime in June... I had my sis, called back in late July and that's when they said it was slow... I did not want to take a chance, so we booked.

Went to check with our AAA agent today about our upcoming trip. She called DC and asked - they're closed for refurb. that week. The guy she talked to told her that we could book now and if a "book early and save" discount became available later we could apply it. Don't know if that's true or not, but we went ahead and booked for 1/4:goodvibes .
