Hi

Wondering how many people go in December :goodvibes

We are from the UK so used to colder weather anyway but wondering if too cold to swim without wet suit

Thanks

I have lived in Central Florida for 20 years and our weather in December can be unpredictable. Last year the we had a few days in Dec. that were in the 30's during the day. It lasted about 5 days. I have also seen days in the 80's. Most time our weather is in the high 60's low 70's.

I hope you have warm weather when you are here.

I found this on the Discover Cove website. It seems that you either have to wear a wet suit or a swim vest.

What is the temperature of the water in the pools?
The temperature of our pools remains constant throughout the year. The fresh water Serenity Bay, Freshwater Oasis and Wind-away River are maintained around 85-88 F (30 C). The salt water Dolphin Lagoon maintained around 72 F (22 C), and The Grand Reef are 77 F (25 C). [back to top]

Wetsuits
While in the water, we do require guests to wear either a wetsuit (short or long depending on the season and guests preference) or a swim vest. This ensures our lifeguards are able to see guests as they swim underwater, thus, enhancing safety.
*Sizing ranges from toddlers through 18XL.

We went in December (2000) when we were at Disney for Christmas. You arrive to park early and yes it was cold, they had those propane heaters along the walkway to help. This is a wonderful park and we loved everything about it! even with it being cold, all the pools are heated and felt like bath water. You will be wearing a wetsuit which helps keep your body heat in. We swam with dolphin and that water felt warm to us too probably because the air was cold. Go for it :thumbsup2 I want to do this park again when we go back to Disney in a few years :)

We went in December in 2011 and 2012 and are going back this December. We are from WI and thought the water was great. We used the swim vests and were fine but do know the temperature can change day to day

We are going in December and we are from Ontario, Canada so it will probably fell warm to us!

We were there xmas day and us hearty cdns were cold. Had to switch to wetsuits or stay in the water.

Hey greenclan, are you still on Manitoulin? I used to spend some time in the summer there years ago. Had relatives there.

We have done Discovery Cove three times in August, have booked for Christmas Day this year! I must admit, I was a little apprehensive booking for the 'winter', but my kids absolutely love DC so it will be a Christmas Day surprise!
