We would love to do Discovery Cove Dolphin Swim. At the time DD will be 8 and DS will only be 5 and a half. We debated DD doing the dolphin swim with DH while myself and DS get the non dolphin swim option. I was just wondering if he will be able to get close to dolphins or maybe touch one? I don't want him to feel left out because he is 6 months too young. Are they really strict about the age for the swim?
Can people who get the non dolphin swim option see and possibly pet the dolphins?

Thanks!

You said it best!!

Let your DD do the experience with your hubby and you wait and take pics or video!
At the end, when they do the pics with the dolphin, your hubby just have to let them know that you are there and they will let you take the pic together... (let your son be next to the dolphin so that he can touch it! Pssssst! :-))

I would call an ask. Two things to consider. First the water in the dolphin area is cold. REALLY cold. My munchkin was miserable at 7 standing in the water he was so cold. (You have to wade out to get to the dolphins). The water is also fairly deep for little kids. If he is not a tall six year old, someone will have to hold his head above the water unless can tread water really well. They might let him sit on the beach while you guys do the program and let him come out for a family photo at the end though. They like to sell those photo packages! ;)

They really do this with the pictures...

But they will NEVER allow a 5,5 year old on a whole experience because this is an insurance issue...

Sorry, next year he is good to go :cool1:
