I want detailed information on the food offerings at DC. We're visiting in April. I've read lots of great info about DC activities but scarcely anything about DC food. Of course, the food is not our priority but I'd like to be informed. Is lunch served buffet, cafeteria, or cooked to order? What are the selections and reccomendations? How long is the cafe' open and can you go through the line more than once? What is served at breakfast? Any info is appreciated. TIA

We were there in August and b-fast is danish, begals jellies cream cheese and fruits and coffee and juices, cont. b-fast in other words but good food.
Then there is the snack bar with top shelf bud beer and soft pretzels chips and soft drinks the lunch is served cafateria style for about 3 hours with great gumbo and grilled chicken and hamburgers and delish desserts.. all is free with admission. I don't remember everything but it was all good food they also had like 1 pound hotdogs. for lunc also. you will enjoy the offerings.

I'll second what abaldacci has said the food is good. You could quite easily eat and drink all day and more than get your money's worth back in food costs alone if the mood took you. The only thing they would stop you doing is continue drinking beer once you appeared drunk, other than that go round and round the lunch line from 11am to 3pm.

yes, the food is amazing, i dont know about breakfast, but for lunch it is like cafeteria style, but they can make things speccially for you and have tons of choices, its like eating at a restaurant, also they have snack buildings, to get beer, sodas, frozen drinks (if you like lemonade, definately try the frozen lemonade, its amazing) they also have bags of chips and pretzals that you just go up and take, it feels kinda like stealing haha, but you could just sit and eat all day, its very nice.

Do they have ice cream for snacks, I was hoping they had the shamu bar (they are like a mickey bar). My kids would love that.

They had ice cream bars for snacks but not shamu ones

In September----hot dog, grilled burger, grilled chicken, pasta primavera, lobster salad, salmon with pesto, turkey sandwhich, club type sandwich.....and I think mac/cheese....
then you could have your sides like fries, salad.....and desserts........

Yum! Thanks for the info. Even my majorly picky Honey can find something to eat there. Maggie

Thanks ! DD sooo wants to swim with Dolphins buit we only have 1 day set aside for Seaworld , Does Seaworld stay open later than Discovery Cove??

it depends when you are going, Sea World is open till 10pm during the summer, but in its off-season sometimes it closes as early as 6, however DC is only open until 5:30pm

the food is very good. We ate when we first got there and made sure we had more to eat before the day was over.

Then we took a shuttle from DC to sea world and just had enough time to do a "Griswald" tour (vacation movie) to watch the last showing of Shamu. I can't remember if we left early but i am pretty sure that we left as the DC was closing and still had about another hour for SW.

All the food and drinks and beer is FREE????

Free? well I think of it as 'included' as in no EXTRA charge; as is the picture at entry which is a nice hook to get you to at least go to the picture stand...and while there heck, may as well LOOK at the other pictures.... GOTCHA :woohoo:

Ah I knew food was included but I assumed wed have to pay for ice cream, snacks and drinks,, just a shame in mot quite 21

Wow, that is so amazing, I'm getting excited didn't even think of doing Discovery Cove, maybe we'll do it this trip. How much more if you get the Dolphin package, am I following this correctly, you pay a certain price and then its more if you want to swim the dolphins also? What are the prices? We never did Discovery Cove. Doesn't seem really bad if that includes also food, and passes to Seaworld and Bush Gardens correct? Posts are all really informative. Do you just go around the park doing what you want or do you have to follow a set schedule and make reservations for each thing you want to do? I really had no idea what Discovery Cove was other than a park you swim with dolphins. ;)

the only thing that you have to schedule is the dolphin swim, other than that you can do whatever you want whenever you want. And yes the price you pay includes all of your food, drinks (incluiding beer) and goggles and a mask, you can also get prescription goggles if you need them. That also covers lockers and everything. You can find all the prices at discoverycove.com o and yes, it includes admission to seaworld also
