We have dolphin swim reservations for this Sunday. My son fractured his arm this week and now has a waterproof cast. I called DC today thinking they may not let him swim with the dolphin due to the cast but they told me it was ok as long as the cast was wrapped in some type of plastic, plastic bag etc. I was surprised thinking they wouldn't allow anything like this in the water. Anyone experienced this before have a child who did the dolphin experience while having a cast?

The dolphin experience isn't a lot of movement where you'd be worried for the animal. You get close, but you aren't touching much. As for putting in a plastic bag, I wonder if that is what they think is needed to keep the cast dry and not really a requirement for the dolphin. My son broke both his wrists and I thought his summer was done. I was amazed that casts these days can go swimming as long as you are proactive about drying it correctly.

there are waterproof bags for casts sold and also bubble wrap that worked pretty good with my DD's cast.

thanks for the replies. My son actually has a waterproof cast and I explained that when I called. He has done the dolphin swim before but never with a cast. I guess I will see when I get there.....
